Shaheed El-Hafed, Oct 16, 2017 (SPS) - The Polisario Front has welcomed the forthcoming visit of the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Western Sahara, Horst Koehler, and reiterated the willingness to cooperate constructively for the completion of the decolonization of the last colony in Africa, through enabling the Sahrawi people to its inalienable right to self-determination and independence.
In a statement sanctioning a meeting of the Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat, chaired by President Brahim Ghali, the Polisario Front expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the session of the United Nations General Assembly and its Fourth Committee on Decolonization, its adherence to the respect for the legal nature of the question of Western Sahara, and application of the resolution 1514 of 1960 on the granting of independence to colonial peoples and countries.
The Permanent Bureau stressed the commitment of the Sahrawi side to respect the principles of the constitutive act of the African Union and to abide by the strict application of its decisions and mechanisms on various issues.
It condemned the serious attempts by foreign parties to support the Moroccan expansionist agenda, aimed at breaking the African ranks and damaging the African Union, its unity, harmony and international prestige. (SPS)
