Prime Minister oversees National Day of the Jaima festivities

Auserd (Refugee Camps), Oct 10, 2017 (SPS) – the Prime Minister, Abdelkader Taleb Omar, oversaw Tuesday in the Wilaya of Auserd along with member National Secretariat and head of the Political Organization, Hama Salama and SG of the Ministry of Culture, Mustafa Mohamed Fadel, the festivities commemorating October 10, National Day of the Jaima.

In his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the Saharawi Jaima as a method of resistance against occupation due to its symbolism and historical value, adding that "the occupant forbids the installation of jaimas knowing that the Jaima is unity, culture and struggle" .

On the other hand, the governor of Auserd, Mariam Salek, stressed the contribution of the Jaima in the preservation of the Saharawi cultural legacy and the national identity.

In this line, the secretary general of the Ministry of Culture, Mustafa Mohamed Fadel, stated that "the celebration of the National Day of the Jaima reflects the interest of the Saharawi State in the promotion of cultural action"

It is noteworthy that the National Day of the Jaima coincides with the savage dismantling of the Gdeim Izik Camp in 2010 by the Moroccan repression forces. SPS
