XV Congress of the Communist Party of Venezuela approves a resolution to support the legitimate struggle of the Saharawi people

Caracas, June 28, 2017 (SPS) - The XV Congress of the Communist Party of Venezuela, held between June 22 and 26, 2017 in the city of Caracas, has approved an important resolution to support the legitimate struggle of the Saharawi people under the leadership of the Frente POLISARIO to recover the freedom and independence of Western Sahara militarily occupied by Morocco since 1975.
 
The Congress was attended by more than 20 delegations from different countries in Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe and the Saharawi Ambassador to Venezuela, Mr. Mohamed Salem Daha.
 
The various interventions in the Congress expressed their unanimous support for the struggle of the Saharawi people and their right to self-determination and independence.
 
In his address to the plenary of the Congress, the Saharawi ambassador thanked the huge solidarity of the delegates of the Communist Party of Venezuela, its youth, the Venezuelan government and the people with the heroic struggle for National Liberation that the Saharawi people waged for more than 40 against the Moroccan war machine supported by major international powers.
 
The Saharawi ambassador took the opportunity to contact the delegations present (Paraguay, Cyprus, Portugal, Mexico, Spain, Romania, Panama, ...) to explain the latest developments in the national cause, especially the situation of permanent repression that our population lives in Occupied Terrirories of Western Sahara.SPS
