Sahrawi political prisoners of Gdeim Izik appear before Salé court

Submitted on

Rabat (Morocco) 8 May 2017 (SPS) - The first session of the trial of Sahrawi political prisoners, Gdeim Izik, opened Monday, at the Moroccan Court of appeal in Salé, within the framework of the fourth round of their trial.
Since the early hours of Monday morning, the Moroccan authorities have brought dozens of thugs who have intimidated the families of the prisoners and their supporters in an attempt to disrupt their peaceful and civilized demands.
At the same time, the Moroccan authorities imposed a repressive siege inside and outside the court, preventing many activists and human rights defenders from entering the courtroom and following up the trial.
It is worth mentioning that today's session comes after many sessions postponed since the referral of the group before the civil court. (SPS)
