Submitted on

Washington, Feb 25, 2017 (SPS) - About ten US senators and members of the US House of Representatives will pay a visit to the Sahrawi refugee camps on Sunday, Polisario Front's representation and Algerian diplomats in Washington told APS.
The US Congress delegation will meet with Sahrawi officials and see by themselves the situation in which Sahrawi refugees have been living for 40 years, in exile with no prospect of ever returning to their homeland, which is occupied by Morocco.
The visit of support to the Sahrawi people is part of an African tour, under the new US administration, and shows the interest and support of the representatives of American people to the Sahrawi cause.
The delegation is made up of influential members of the US Congress, including Republican Randy Hultgren, co-chairman of Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission of the House of Representatives and several of their advisers in charge of African, foreign and human rights issues.
US congressmen paid two visits to the Sahrawi refugee camps in 2016 in support to the legitimate right of Sahrawi people to self-determination. (SPS)
