Opening of Annual Conference on Foreign Affairs

Chahid El Hafed,   December 27, 2016 (SPS) - The annual Conference on Foreign Relations was inaugurated today in the presence of the President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Mr. Brahim Gali, members of the National Secretariat, The Saharawi Government and the National Council, as well as the diplomatic corps and cadres of the POLISARIO and the Saharawi State.
 
The annual meeting of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs aims to asses the diplomatic work during the year 2016 and outline a strategy for 2017, in order to intensify the efforts to bring justice Cause of the Saharawi people to all international forums, in addition to expanding the platform of solidarity with the Saharawi people, in accordance with the resolutions of the XIV Congress of the Frente POLISARIO.
 
The head of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the National Secretariat, Mr M'hamed Khadad, said that the seminar was held to inform participants of the achievements attained abroad and how to strengthen Saharawi diplomacy in the face of challenges especially in these current times where the Intifada of independence intensifies, the challenges of security and the ways to confront them, as well as taking a correct decision in the face of the recent Moroccan military escalation in the area of ​​El-Gargarat.
 
 Mr M'hamed Khadad added that the conference was held in special circumstances characterized by great progress by the Saharawi national cause and a strong position of the allies of the Saharawi people and the recent victory of the POLISARIO in the EU Court of Justice Whose ruling has denied the existence of Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara and asked to exclude the Saharawi territory from all agreements between Morocco and European States.
 
The Annual Conference on Foreign Affairs will continue its work until December 30, and during these days will be given several conferences on foreign action, security issues and how to deal with terrorism and organized crime, as well as With conclusions that will establish the strategies and perspectives of diplomatic work for the year 2017.
