East Timor Parliament President reiterates his country's principled and firm position with Sahrawi just cause

Dili (East Timor), November 17, 2016 (SPS) - the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of East Timor Mr. Hugo da Costa, reiterated on Wednesday his country principled and firm position with the Saharwi just cause, which translates our joint struggle in order to achieve the same goal which is to end the occupation and achieve freedom and independence."
 
Mr. Hugo da Costa highlighted during his a meeting with the Saharawi ambassador to East Timor, Mr. Mohamed Islam Baddi, that his country's position, "is clear translation of our common struggle for freedom," adding that, "If we have achieved in East Timor that goal, the support of the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence is also our struggle until enabling Saharawi people to exercise their right to self-determination."
 
In this regard, the Saharawi Ambassador conveyed to his host the gratitude and thanks of his Sahrawi counterpart Mr. Jatri Aduh, the Speaker of the Saharawi National Council, for their supporting position to the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination, and their keen to strengthen cooperation ties in order to serve the benefit of the two legislatives institutions and the two brotherly peoples.
 
The Ambassador broached with his interlocutor the latest developments of Saharawi cause, mainly the recent Moroccan escalation in El Guergarat area, the expulsion of the political and administrative component of MINURSO, and its objectives to join the African Union.SPS
