Sahrawi people reaffirm attachment to legitimate rights for self-determination and independence (Council of Ministers)

Shaheed El Hafed, August 28, 2016 (SPS) – The Council of Ministers reaffirmed the commitment and the determination of the Sahrawi people to continue its just struggle to snatch its legitimate and inalienable rights for self-determination and independence.

In a communiqué sanctioning an ordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by the President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, the Council recalled the measures taken by the General Staff of Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) to face the Moroccan violations of the cease-fire in the region of Elgargarate.

The Council of Ministers held the United Nations responsible for Moroccan breach of cease-fire in the buffer zone of Elgargarat in Western Sahara, calling for urgent action to end these violations and immediate withdrawal of Moroccan apparatus, civil and military elements on site.

"Any delay or hesitation in taking an urgent decision may result in a false signal to the Moroccan state encouraging it to go forward in its intransigence, contempt and aggression, which pose a real and dangerous threat to peace and security and stability in the region", warned the Council of Ministers.

"The intransigent behaviour and adventurers of Morocco in rebellion to international legitimacy and non-compliance with its commitments reflect the isolation the Kingdom of Morocco at the regional, continental and international levels", estimated the President of the Republic at this meeting.

The President of the Republic insisted on the importance of promoting capacities and preparations of the ALPS as a main force able to ensure victory and deal with the challenges and dangers posed by the escalation and violations of cease - fire signed between the two parties, Polisario Front and Morocco, which continues to flood the region with drugs and finance the terrorist groups and organized crimes.

The Council of Ministers called on the Sahrawi people for vigilance and commitment to unity and cohesion, as well as preparation to face the maneuvers and conspiracies of the Moroccan enemy. (SPS)
