Brussels, June 19, 2016 (SPS) -Spanish Member of European Parliament Paloma Lopez is worried about the health of Sahrawi political prisoner Mohamed El Hafed Yazza and called on the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini to take necessary measures to ensure respect for this fundamental rights and his release.
In a written question addressed to Mogherini, Lopez affirmed that Mohamed El Hafed Yazza, who observes a hunger strike, is in a "critical condition" as Moroccan authorities refused to provide him with healthcare.
The Spanish MP questioned Mogherini about measure to release this prisoner and ensure respect for his fundamental rights.
She stressed that the EU Parliament has repeatedly drawn the attention of the EU commission on these infringements. (SPS)
