SWAPO extends condolences over passing away of President Mohamed Abdelaziz

Windhoek, June 5, 2016 (SPS) - The SWAPO Party has extended condolences over the passing away on Tuesday of President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, in a letter to the people and government of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.

The full text of the letter:

“The SWAPO Party has learnt with sadness about the most untimely death of H.E. Mohamed Abdelaziz, the President of the Saharawi Democratic Republic and first Secretary of the Polisario Front on 01 June 2016.

The late His Excellency President Abdelaziz was a stalwart and committed leader of his people who has stood firm throughout many decades towards the liberation of his people and the upliftment and development with the eventual aim of the economy of the Saharawi.

His Excellency, the late President Abdelaziz paved and cemented the excellent diplomatic, political and economic relationship between the Republic of Namibia, SWAPO Party and the Democratic Republic of Saharawi and Polisario Front.

We pray that the bereaved family and the Government of the Saharawi Democratic Republic and the Polisario Front find Comfort and consolidation in the goodness of the memories, the courage and quality leadership throughout his life.

On behalf of SWAPO party and indeed on my own behalf it is with humanity and respect that I extend our sincere and deepest condolences to the people of Saharawi Democratic Republic and the Polisario Front.
