UN Human Rights Council: Western Sahara delegation sheds light on Moroccan abuses

Geneva, 30 September 2022 (SPSA) - A Saharawi delegation attending the works of the 51st session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland, in a series of meetings with the representatives of international delegations and organizations, shed light on the abuses committed by Moroccan authorities in the occupied Sahrawi territories, depriving Western Sahara people from their right to independence.

African Court ruling on Western Sahara, proof of Moroccan policy failure

Gaborone, 26 September 2022 (SPS) - The ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) to Botswana, Malainin Lakhal, has indicated that the ruling by the African Court of Human and Peoples' Rights on the need to find a permanent solution to the Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara, was a proof of the failure of the Moroccan policy of buying consciences to legitimize this occupation.

African Court upholds the right to self-determination and independence of the Saharawi people

Bir Lehlou (Saharawi Republic) 23 September 2022 (SPS)- In a landmark ruling of 22 September 2022, the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights denounced the Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara as a serious violation of the Saharawi people’s right to self-determination.
The Court ruled that “both the UN and the AU recognise the situation of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic as one of occupation and consider its territory as one of those territories whose decolonisation process is not yet fully completed.”

New York (United Nations) 22 September 2022 (SPS)- The President of the Republic of Namibia declared support of his country for the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination, stressing that the delay in implementing UN resolutions to settle the question of Western Sahara is an embarrassment to the forehead of the international community.

SPLA carries out new attacks against positions of Moroccan occupation forces in Beggari sector

Birlahlou (Liberated Territories), 19 September 2022 (SPS) - Units of the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) carried out on Monday new attacks against the positions of the Moroccan occupation forces in the sector of El Beggari which suffered considerable human and material losses, indicated the Ministry of Defense in its military communiqué N 635.
"Advanced detachments of the Sahrawi Army carried out attacks targeting the entrenchments of the Moroccan occupying forces in the region of Oum Degen (sector of El Beggari)," the same source said.
