San Leon Energy under investigation for Western Sahara activity

Dublin, 30 January 2021 (SPS) -The Irish oil and gas exploration company San Leon Energy is under investigation by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in relation to its activities in Western Sahara, media announced.
The Global Legal Action Network (Glan), a non-governmental agency, made a formal complaint to the OECD about the company through its representative in Ireland in October 2018.

Resumption of war in Western Sahara, no surprise

Moscow (Russia) Jan 28, 2021 (SPS) - The resumption of war between Morocco and the Sahrawi Republic is not a "surprise" considering the failure of the influent international parties to deal with Western Sahara issue and the procrastination of the international community in getting Morocco to come back to the negotiation table, political analyst Sidi Mohamed Benjaafar said.

SPLA continue its attacks on enemy bases

Bir Lehlu (Sahrawi Republic), Jan 27, 2021 (SPS) - The attacks of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) continued today for the seventy-sixth consecutive day against the bases of the Moroccan occupation army along the Wall of Shame .
According to War Report No. 76 issued today by the Ministry of National Defense, advanced units of the SPLA carried out the following attacks on Tuesday, January 26, 2021:
- Concentrated bombardment against enemy positions in the Ajbeilat Al-Jadar region, Guelta sector.

Sahrawi political prisoner, Abdelmula Mohamed, deprives of his right to family communication

Local Prison of Ait Malula 1 (Morocco), Jan 27, 2021 (SPS) - The family of the Saharawi political prisoner Abdelmula Mohamed Hafed, reported that their son is suffering from precarious and worrying prison conditions by Moroccan prison authorities which has deprived him of his right to communicate with his family.
His family has also expressed their fear about the conditions in which their son is, who is confined in the Ait Malul 1 in the Moroccan city of Agadir, deprived by the prison authorities of his right to correspond his relatives.

All positions of Moroccan occupation forces to be targeted by Sahrawi liberation Army

Chahid El-Hafed, Jan 27, 2021 (SPS) - Saharawi Minister of Equipment Sid Ahmed Batal said that all positions of the Moroccan military forces will be targets for the Sahrawi Army that is fighting for independence.
Speaking to the Saharawi radio, Ahmed Batal said "the war was over 29 years ago, but the despair of the Saharawi people and leadership for peaceful solutions has made it essential to choose a site of national and international importance to resume the fight in a new version, and we chose the passage of El-Guergarat."

President Masisi: Morocco must end its illegal occupation of parts of Saharawi Republic

Sahrawi army continues attacks against occupying forces for 74th consecutive day

Bir Lahlou, 25 January 2021 (SPS) - The Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) continued its attacks against the positions and entrenchments of the Moroccan occupation forces, behind the Wall of "Shame", for the 74th consecutive day, said a statement from the Sahrawi ministry of defense.
According to statement no. 74, "the forces of the Sahrawi army launched on Sunday two attacks targeting the Moroccan occupation forces in the region of Ankeb Elabd".

President Ramaphosa calls on Biden to reverse illegal recognition of Morocco sovereignty over Western Sahara

Bir Lahlou (Liberated Territories), 24 January 2021 (SPS) - Sources from the Sahrawi ministry of National Defense affirmed the Sahrawi Liberation Army (SPLA) has carried out new military operations in El Guergarrat region.
The same sources specified that units of the Sahrawi army "launched four missiles targeting the illegal breach in El Guergarrat and its surroundings, two of which targeting the Laouina region, while another missile strike reached the north of the illegal breach ".

Trump's stance on Western Sahara "makes no sense"

In a Zoom briefing hosted by Chatham House on Wednesday afternoon, Mrs. Pandor considered that “US President Joe Biden should urgently reverse his country’s recognition of Morocco as having sovereignty over Western Sahara.”

Burundi announces the closure of its "consulate" in the occupied city of El-Aaiun

Bujumbura (Burundi) 23 January 2021 (SPS) - Burundian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, through its Twitter account, it will close its "consulate" in the occupied city of El-Aaiun, due to "strategic reasons and within the framework of reciprocity," without explaining the real reasons behind this step.
In 2020, Burundi opened this consulate, in violation of the Constitutive Act of the African Union, which prohibits Morocco from occupying the territories of another member state of the Union, mainly the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic.

45 Scholars from ten countries call on Biden to cancel Trump’s position on Western Sahara (Text of the letter)

510 military operations against Moroccan occupation army in 67 days

Shaheed El Hafed, 21 January 2021 (SPS) - Secretary General of the Sahrawi Ministry of Security and Documentation, Sidi Oukal said Tuesday that 510 military operations have been carried out against the Moroccan army in 67 days of fighting since the resumption of the armed struggle, in response to the Moroccan violation of the cease-fire agreement on November 13 last year.
