British organisations launch campaign for release of Sahrawi political prisoners

London, June 30, 2019 (SPS) - Adala-UK and Western Sahara Action Forum (WSAF) have launched a campaign in the United Kingdom, through which they have sent a letter to Moroccan Ambassador in London urging him to call upon its country to stop human rights violations in Western Sahara and release all Sahrawi political prisoners.

Western Sahara conflict resolution, “key” solution to security in Maghreb and Sahel

Paris, June 29, 2019 (SPS) - The resolution of the Western Sahara conflict, enshrining the independence of its territory, is a “key” solution to security and stability in the Maghreb and Sahel regions, said speakers at a conference held at the French Assembly.
Organized for the third time at the France’s Lower House, the conference on Western Sahara was an opportunity for speakers (academics, politicians and activists) to examine the issue from the perspective of security challenges in the Maghreb and Sahel region.

Conference in Geneva on Sahrawi people rights abuse

Geneva, June 27, 2019 (SPS)  - The UN Human Rights Council hosted Wednesday a conference on the Moroccan occupation attacks on the economic, social and cultural rights in Western Sahara and the negative role of some European countries, which hinders the settlement of the conflict, contribute directly to perpetuate the sufferings of the Sahrawi people.

Wali of Ausserd undertakes a working visit to French

Rize (France), 25 June 2019 (SPS) – the Wali (Govermor) of Ausserd , Mrs. Mariam Salec, has undertaken Tuesday a working visit to  the French town of Rize accompanied by  the Frente POLISARIO representative  in France, Mr. Abbi Bashraya .
The delegation has held an expanded meeting with the Mayor of the city, Gerard Mayar, and members of the Council to discuss  a bilateral cooperation project   Between the state of Oussard and the French municipality of Rize.

France, June 25,  2019 (SPS) - The representative of the Frente POLISARIO in France, Mr. Abbi Bashraya, stressed that the efforts exerted by the United Nations and its Personal Envoy, former German President Horst Köhler, for the decolonization of Western Sahara were all met with obstinacy and obstruction by Morocco with a strong support from France through its passive role within the UN Security Council in influencing all decisions that would push the peace process to a just final solution to the issue.

Frente POLISARIO denounces expulsion of international observers by Moroccan authorities of occupation

New York, June 24, 2019 (SPS) - The Frente POLISARIO has expressed its strong condemnation of the expulsion carried out by the Moroccan authorities of occupation in Western Sahara against international observers who were planning to attend the trial of Sahrawi journalist Nazha El Khalidi, scheduled for today, in a letter addressed by Representative of the Frente POLISARIO at the United Nations, Dr Sidi M. Omar, to Permanent Representative of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations, President of the Security Council, H.E. Mr Mansour Al-Otaibi.

Saudi Arabia donates 350 tonnes of dates to Sahrawi refugees

Algiers, June 22, 2019 (SPS) - During the Holy month of Ramadan, the World Food Prgramme (WFP) distributed 350 tonnes of dates offered by Saudi Arabia to Sahrawi refugees in Algeria, the WFP said in a communiqué published Friday.
“Sahrawi refugees received 2kg of dates for each during the holy month of Ramadan. Saudi Arabia’s donation is worth US$725,000 and this contribution has been regular in the recent years,” said the communiqué.

Buhari Restates Nigeria’s Support For Sahrawi Republic

President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday in Abuja restated Nigeria’s support for the people of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), and their quest for self-determination and independence.
At an audience granted the President of SADR, Brahim Ghali at the State House, the Nigerian leader stressed that the country’s position is in line with the several resolutions of the African Union (AU) and the United Nations (UN) on the matter.
