Algiers, May 26, 2019 (SPS) - Sahrawi Ambassador to Algiers Abdelakder Taleb Omar denounced Moroccan occupier’s rejection of the African Union’s participation in Western Sahara peace process, saying that AU’s commitment to the core principles, particularly respect for the borders inherited after independence and the right to self-determination, was a pledge of peace and stability in the continent.

The President of the Republic was received by Director of African and Middle East Affairs at the South African Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with a number of foreign and South African officials.

During his tenure as Personal Envoy, President Kӧhler was unwavering in his pursuit of a just and lasting solution that would provide for the self-determination of the people of Western Sahara. We thank President Kӧhler for his dynamic efforts to relaunch the UN peace process in Western Sahara, and we wish him good health and every success in all his endeavours.

New York (USA) May 23, 2019, (SPS) - The Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, deeply regretted the resignation of former President of Germany, Horst Kohler, to his position and mission as an Personal Envoy for Western Sahara.
In a message sent to the head of the UN, Kohler announces the decision to abandon the position as mediator in the process of decolonization of Western Sahara. The former president justifies such a decision for reasons Health.

Anniversary of Sahrawi armed struggle: 46 years of resistance

Algiers, May 21, 2019 (SPS) - Sahrawi ambassador to Algiers Abdelkader Taleb Omar said Monday that the anniversary of the armed struggle outbreak mark 46 years of the Sahrawi people’s resistance, who refuse that their rights are alienated and accept no further alternative but the right to self-determination.
In an interview to APS, on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the Sahrawi armed struggle outbreak, Taleb Omar said that "the Sahrawi people continue to resist and no one can force them or deprive them from their rights."

Tifariti University and Oviedo University sign an important cooperation agreement

This occasion comes and the Sahrawi people are still struggling on many fronts to establish its inalienable right to self-determination and independence.

Moroccan forces use violence against Sahrawi demonstrators in occupied city of Boujdour

Boujdour (Occupied Territories), May 19, 2019 (SPS) - The Moroccan forces on Friday resorted to violence against Sahrawi demonstrators and stormed others’ houses in the occupied city of Boujdour, in coincidence with the demonstrations commemoration of the declaration of the armed struggle.
The Moroccan forces besieged a group of demonstrators before they intervened violently and broke into many houses, resulting in many casualties, most of them were women and some of them were seriously injured.

Journalists from occupied territories participate in training course on media of resistance

Shaheed Al-Wali School (Refugee Camps), May 12, 2019 (SPS) - Minister of the Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad, Bashir Mustafa Sayed, and Minister of Information Hamada Salma, on Sunday supervised the launch of a training course on the media of resistance at Shaheed Al-Wali National School, Sahrawi refugee camps.
The training course is the first of its kind in the refugee camps, lasts for 15 days, includes 24 trainees from the occupied territories of Western Sahara, and focuses on various media specializations.

Deterioration of health condition of Sahrawi political prisoner Brahim Daddi Ismaeli

Ait Melloul (Morocco), May 12, 2019 (SPS) - The Moroccan local prison administration of Ait Melloul 2 on Thursday transferred Sahrawi political prisoner, among the Gdeim Izik group, Brahim Daddi Ismaili, to hospital for medical examinations, as a result of his deteriorating health condition, amid heightened security guard.
Family members of the Sahrawi political prisoner, who were present near the hospital, saw him on his arrival handcuffed and surrounded by more than 15 police guards.
