Occupied Western Sahara: Amnesty denounces Moroccan repression against Sahrawi people

London; Feb 28 2019 (SPS) - Non-governmental organization Amnesty International denounced on Tuesday the pressure exerted by the authorities of the Moroccan occupation against peaceful demonstrations in the occupied Sahrawi cities.
“The Moroccan Police dispersed violently in June a peaceful demonstration in occupied Aaiun,” during a visit of the Personal Envoy of UN Secretary General for Western Sahara, denounced Amnesty International in its report on “the situation of human rights in the Middle East and North Africa,” published on Tuesday.

Algiers, Feb 28, 2019 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Brahim Gali, received a congratulatory message from the President of Algeria, Abdelaziz Buteflika, on the occasion of the 43 Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Saharawi Republic.
The Algerian Head of State expressed to President Brahim Gali and the Saharawi people his warmest congratulations and sincere wishes for the new anniversary of the SADR.

Western Sahara: Use of US aid subject to Department of State’ consent

Washington, February 25, 2019 (SPS) - The American Congress has once again said that the use of the American aid to Morocco in the occupied Sahrawi territories is subject to the consent of the Department of State.
The Congress which allocated the funds destined to Morocco to help Western Sahara, under the federal budget 2019, underlined that the use of this aid is subject to the approval of the Department of State.

Occupied Aaiun, Feb 21, 2019 (SPS) - Moroccan occupation forces on Wednesday (February 20th, 2019) intervened violently against Sahrawi demonstrators in the occupied capital of Aaiun, leaving many casualties.
Immediately after the demonstration, the Moroccan occupation forces surrounded the demonstrators and prevented the other citizens from joining them before violently intervening to target the national flags held by the demonstrators.

South Africa will host a conference of solidarity and support to the Saharawi cause

Pretoria, Feb 20, 2019 (SPS) - The Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa, Lindiwe Nonceba Sisulu announced on Tuesday before the diplomatic corps accredited in South Africa, the convocation of the conference of the Southern African Development Community (SADC, for its acronym in English) for solidarity and support to the Saharawi people on March 25 and 26 in Pretoria.
The Head of South African diplomacy said that this noble people deserve a lot of solidarity to achieve liberation and freedom and independence.

43 Years of the Moroccan genocide in UM-dreiga, a crime against humanity still unpunished

Chahid El Hafed (Saharawi Refugee Camps), February 19, 2019 (SPS) - 43 years have already passed over the Moroccan genocide of 1976 in UM-Dreiga and to this day this crime against humanity continues unpunished.
What happened on the morning of February 18, 1976 in the town of Um-dreiga (Western Sahara) has no other name. The bombing with napalm by Moroccan aviation to innocent children and women leaving a trail of death, terror and despair, is one of the black episodes in the history of our country.
