Maseru (Lesotho), May 31,  2018 (SPS) - The Saharawi Republic and the Kingdom of Lesotho called on Morocco to honour its obligation to abide by the principles and goals enshrined in Article 4 (b) and (f) of the African union Constitutive Act  in a joint communiqué on the occasion of the official visit by His Excellency, President Brahim Gali of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic to the Kingdom of Lesotho from 28th to 31st May, 2018.

Maseru (Lesotho), May 30, 2018 (SPS) - The Saharawi President, Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Mr. Brahim Gali, has arrived to the capital of Maseru Ozoto on a three-day working visit.
The President was received at the Moshoeshoe I International Airport by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Muniani Mueliki as well as several ministers of the ruling coalition and other personalities.

European Parliament to stand against any decision contrary to international legality

Milano, May 28, 2018 (SPS) - Vice President of the European Parliament Fabio Massimo Castaldo affirmed that the European Parliament will stand against any decision contrary to international legality, which would allow EU countries exploit the resources of Western Sahara, still occupied by Morocco, and called European governments to comply the decision of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) declaring the EU-Morocco fisheries agreement not applicable to the territory of Western Sahara and its adjacent waters.

SWAPO SPYL stages peaceful demonstration in solidarity with Sahrawi people

The Demonstration coincides with a State Visit of His Excellency, Mr. Brahim Ghali, President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), to the Republic of Namibia, from 27-29 May 2018.

President of Republic begins state visit to Republic of Namibia

Shaheed El-Hafed, May 27, 2018 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, will begin a state visit to the sisterly Republic of Namibia at the invitation of his Namibian counterpart, Dr. Hage Geingob.
During the three-day visit, the two presidents will review bilateral relations and means of enhancing them and the latest developments of the Sahrawi issue at the African and international scenes.

Adala UK “extremely concerned” about arbitrary detentions of Sahrawi journalists by Moroccan authorities

London, May 27, 2018 (SPS) - Adala UK, an organization based in London which deals with human rights in occupied Western Sahara, said it is “extremely concerned” about the extent of Moroccan intimidations and arbitrary detentions against Sahrawi journalists.
In its last report published this week, the non-governmental organization underlined that the Moroccan authorities continue attacking journalists to prevent them from reporting human rights violations committed by the Moroccan forces in the occupied territories of Western Sahara.

Spanish parliamentary intergroups call for holding of self-determination referendum

Morocco violated international legality by invading Western Sahara in 1975

Tifariti (Liberated Territories), May 21, 2018 (SPS) - President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, affirmed that the Moroccan Kingdom violated the international legality by its military invasion of Western Sahara on 31 October 1975 and also violated the international law and the international humanitarian law by committing horrible crimes against the Sahrawi people.

Tifariti (Liberated Territories), May 20, 2018 (SPS) - The festivities commemorating the 45th anniversary of the outbreak of the Saharawi armed struggle kicked off Sunday in Tifariti, in the presence of the president of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) and secretary general of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali.
The celebrations have also been attended by delegations representing Saharawi provinces and institutions, international personalities, ambassadors from friendly countries and supporters of the Saharawi just cause.

Human rights champion honoured

South African international climate activist and human rights defender Catherine Constantinides has been recognised by the Saharawi National Commission for Human Rights (CONASADH) as an honorary member.
She was awarded this membership earlier this week at the Saharawi refugee camps, south-west of Algeria. She has been working actively in the camps for the past four years.

Anniversary of outbreak of Sahrawi armed struggle to be celebrated Sunday

Algiers, May 19, 2018 (SPS) - The Polisario Front will celebrate Sunday, in Tifariti, in the Sahrawi liberated territories the 45th anniversary of the outbreak of the Sahrawi armed struggle against the Moroccan occupation forces, a date which comes in a particular context marked by several diplomatic and legal victories snatched by the Sahrawi people, fighting for their right to self-determination.
