Photo exhibition in Paris on life of Sahrawi refugees

Paris, Feb 10, 2018 (SPS) - A photo exhibition entitled "Mémoire des sables" (Memory of sands), shedding light on the life of Sahrawi refugees, has been held in Paris, with a view to increasing solidarity in France with the people of Western Sahara.
During the exhibition, a series of short documentaries highlighting the life of Sahrawi people in refugee camps and the occupied territories of Western Sahara, have been screened.

Morocco violates all international human rights laws, customs and charters

Shaheed El-Hafed (refugee camps), Feb 10, 2018 (SPS) - The head of the National Human Rights Council (CNDH) Fafa Si  Lakhdar Benzerrouki said Saturday, in Shaheed El-Hafed, Sahrawi refugee camps, that “the Moroccan occupation in Western Sahara is a violation of all the international human rights laws, customs and charters and all the human principles and ideals.”

Karlstad (Sweden), Feb 10, 2018 (SPS) - Representative of the Polisario Front in Sweden, Limam Khalil, takes part in the 42nd Congress of the Swedish Left Party, held Friday to Sunday, in Karlstad, at an invitation of the Party.
The Congress discusses a number of issues, notably the preparation for the general elections that will be held in Sweden next September. It will also elect president and leadership of the party.

Bir Lehlu (Liberated Territories),   Feb 08,2018 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Mr. Brahim Gali, has chaired today, in the 5th Military Region, expanded meeting of the General Staff of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA).
 
The two-day meeting is devoted to examining the annual program of the Ministry of National Defense for the year 2018 and the various aspects related to the Saharawi military institution. SPS

Saharawi Petroleum and Mining Authority expresses satisfaction with the withdrawal of Kosmos Energy and Capricorn Exploration from Occupied Western Sahara

Chahid El Hafed, Feb 07, 2018 (SPS) - The Saharawi Petroleum and Mining Authority expressed satisfaction with the decision of foreign companies, Kosmos Energy and Capricorn Exploration & Development Company Ltd, to suspend their oil exploration activities in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, said a statement from the authority reached SPS.
The Saharawi authorities have described this withdrawal as an "exhausting blow" for the projects of the Moroccan occupation in Western Sahara.

By Presidential Decree No. 08/2017 and in accordance with the powers conferred upon it by the Constitution of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic appointed:

Western Sahara conflict resolution: POLISARIO hails AU Summit decisions

SADR has the right to demand AU military intervention if Morocco rejects peaceful solution

Algiers , Feb 06, 2018 (SPS)- "The SADR, as a member country of the AU has the right to demand the AU military intervention if Morocco refuses the peaceful solution to Western Sahara conflict and if it rejects the direct negotiations, proposed by UN Special Envoy Horst Kohler," Sahrawi Foreign Minister, Mohamed Salem Ould Salek told a news conference he hosted at the headquarters of the Sahrawi Embassy in Algiers.

EU-Morocco agreement renegotiation: WRSW “deeply shocked

London, Feb 4, 2018 (SPS) -The Western Sahara Research Watch (WSRW) said it “was deeply shocked by the rogue behaviour of the European Commission,” which negotiate with Rabat a new trade agreement that includes SADR’s products.
“The European Commission shows blatant disregard for the judgment the Court of Justice and for obstructing the UN peace efforts in Western Sahara” as it continues negotiations with Morocco a new agreement that includes the resources of occupied Sahrawi territories,” affirmed WSRW Representative Morten Nielson.

African Court delegation on visit to Sahrawi Republic from Monday

Shaheed El-Hafed (refugee camps), Feb 4, 2018 (SPS) - A delegation of the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights will start a working visit to the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) as from Monday.
During the two-day visit, the African Court's delegation will be received by Sahrawi President and Secretary General of Polisario Front Brahim Ghali and other officials of the Polisario Front.

Sahrawi civil society organizations express “deep concern” regarding EU-Morocco renegotiations

Brussels (Belgium), Feb 3, 2017 (SPS) - About a hundred organizations of the Sahrawi civil society expressed Saturday, their “deep concern” regarding the negotiations between the European Union (EU) and Morocco, to include products from Western Sahara in their trade agreements, without the consent of the Sahrawi people, condemning a “destructive and unsustainable” approach of the European commission.

'Biggest importer' of phosphate rock is pulling out

During an investor conference in Whistler, British Columbia, on 25 January, Chuck Magro, Nutrien's President and CEO, told that the company has an intention to stop buying phosphate rock from Western Sahara. This was reported by Reuters.
However, Reuters did not report on the most interesting part of the news: the CEO informed that the contract between the Moroccan exporter OCP and the part of Nutrien that used to be called Agrium is ending now in 2018.
