(refugees camps), 30/03/2005 (SPS) the Advisory Council (AC)
held a meeting Wednesday in the Wilaya of Aousserd under the
chairmanship of the Head of the State, Mohamed Abdelaziz, and with the
presence of the Prime Minister, and members of the Parliament, National
Secretariat and Government.
Holding its ordinary session, the AC listened to an account by the
Prime Minister, Abdelkader Taleb Oumar. The account focussed on the
headlines of the Government's annual programme recently adopted by the
Parliament.
The interventions of the "Chioukhs" were specially marked by their
attachment to the aspirations of their people to the independence of
their country. They asked for the diversification of the means of
struggle to achieve this goal.
The AC adopted a final communiqué and resolutions. It also
addressed a letter to UN's Secretary General, to the President of the
European Union, to the President of the European Parliament, to the S.G
of the African Union and to the Head of the Spanish State.
Composed of Chioukhs (notables), who collaborated with the UN in the
operation of the identification of the persons habilitated to
participate to the referendum on self-determination of the Saharawi
people, the AC met for the last time in the Wilaya of El Aaiun in
November 2004, it should be recalled. (SPS)
