SPS Opening in Boumerdes of an artistic training in the benefit of the young Saharawis 28.12.05

Boumerdes, 28/12/2005 (SPS) Days of artistic training, in the benefit of the young Saharawis, were inaugurated on Tuesday afternoon by the Saharawi Minister of Culture and Sports, Mrs. Mariem Salek, in the House of Culture "Rachid Mimouni" in Boumerdes (East of Algiers), reported Algerian Press Service, APS.
About 150 children of the Saharawi Republic participated to this training, which will continue until this January the 7th 2006. These lessons include training on painting, theatre, singing, cinema, informatics and the discovery of nature.
Accompanied by the children of the city of Boumerdes, the young Saharawis attended a drama show entitled, "the wall".
In a press conference, animated in the margin of these days, Mrs. Salek, who was accompanied by the Ambassador of the Saharawi Republic to Algiers, Mr. Mohamed Yeslem Baissat, indicated that "the cause of the Saharawi people is just, and sooner or later, they will triumph over the injustice".
She stressed that the Saharawi Republic is currently recognised by some 80 countries, of which the latter is Uruguay. "The international opinion must know, she said, that we are ready to opt for the peaceful solution for the recovering of our right to self-determination".
She further said that the Saharawi Republic has accepted since 1991, the proposition of the holding of a self-determination referendum, conforming to the UN’s resolutions.
Mrs. Mariem Salek, who talked about "cases of women arrested by the Moroccan police", hoped that "the international community realises a gesture in favour of the Saharawi cause, and follow the example of countries which do not stop expressing their support to our just cause".
The Saharawi Minister of Culture and Sports finally underlined that "if Morocco persists in its expansionist policy, the Saharawi people will be forced to resume to war". (SPS)

SPS The Saharawi political prisoners supported their co-prisoner Al Agdadi Ali in his hunger strike

(occupied territories), 28/12/2005 (SPS) The Saharawi political prisoners in
the Moroccan prisons: "Carcel negra" (in the occupied El Aaiun), Ait Melloul,
Kinetra, and the prison of Sraghna (Morocco), declared their solidarity with the
Saharawi political detainee, El agdadi Ali, in hunger strike since last December
the 12 in the prison of Tiznit, according to a press release signed by the
prisoners of these different prisons, of which SPS received a copy.
The Saharawi political prisoners in the Moroccan prisons declared their
unconditional solidarity with the preventive hunger strike started by the young
Saharawi political prisoner, El Agdadi Ali, and denounced the repressive
practices he is subjected to in his cell from the Director of the prison and a
group of his employees.
They also called to the opening of "a transparent investigation on these
repressive practices, that target all the political detainees, and the bringing
before justice of the persons accountable for such violations", stressed the
press release signed by the Saharawi political prisoners.
The Saharawi political prisoners asked for the transfer of the political
prisoner El Agdadi Ali, from his cell in the prison of Tiznit to Ait Melloul
where there is a group of Saharawi political detainees, considering that the
repressive practices of the penitentiary authorities may "push us undertake
other ways for the defence of our legitimate rights", the press release
stressed.
The Saharawi political prisoners also hailed the international human rights
organisations and the democratic forces world wide for their solidarity with the
Saharawi cause, calling on them to more support for the transfer of the
mentioned political prisoner.
The Saharawi political prisoner, El Agdadi Ali, who is currently imprisoned in
the prison of the Moroccan city of Tiznit, decided to start a hunger strike to
denounce the torture he was subjected to in his cell by the director of the
mentioned prison and some of his employees, it should be recalled. (SPS)

SPS A day of solidarity with the Saharawi and Palestinian peoples in Tlemcen

Tlemcen (Algeria), 28/12/2005 (SPS) the works of the 2nd day of the 15th National Conference on the life of the former Algerian President, the late Houari Boumediene, which was opened yesterday in Tlemcen (Algeria), were dedicated the a the solidarity with the Saharawi and Palestinian peoples, reported Algerian Press Service, APS.
This demonstration of solidarity, which took place in the House of Culture in Tlemcen within the framework of this conference, was an opportunity for the Secretary General of the Union of the Youth of Saguia el Hamra and Rio de Oro (UJSARIO), to present a message from the Saharawi people to the participants to this event, paying a special tribute to the late President.
Mr. Jatri Adouh, the Member of Polisario Front’s National Secretariat, indicated, on his part, that the late Houari Boumediene "is a common heritage for both brothers, Algerian and Saharawi peoples, and Algeria was not alone in loosing him, but also the Saharawi Arabe Democratic Republic".
He recalled that the late Algerian President, who "bravely struggled against colonisation, was a fervent leader in the edification of his country, defending peoples’ right to self-determination and unifying the rows of the Arab nations and the third world countries advocating their right to a noble life".
The participants were unanimous in expressing their solidarity with the legitimate struggle of the Saharawi people for their freedom and independence, and expressed their particular support to the Saharawi population in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, who are leading a peaceful struggle to defend their rights via civilised ways since last May, indicated a source close to the Saharawi delegation to SPS.
The 15th edition of the National conference on the life of the former Algerian President, organised since yesterday by the National Union of the Algerian Youth (UNJA) in the House of Culture "Abdelkader Alloula", was attended by the local authorities, representatives of the Embassies of Palestine and of the Saharawi Republic in Algiers, a number of personalities, university students and youth, it should be recalled.
Organised under the slogan "It is wonderful to die for the homeland, but its is even better to live for it", the conference started on Tuesday the 27th of December, with the projection of extracts from the speeches of the Late President. (SPS)
