Continuance of the works of the international conference of coordination of the support to Saharawi people in Saragossa

Saragossa (Spain), 27/11/2004 (SPS) The 30th conference of coordination of support to Saharawi people continues its works at the level of Committees for the second day in Saragossa (Spain).
 
More than one thousand delegates from the different regions of Europe, Africa, USA and Latino America came to Spain to coordinate their support to the struggle of the Saharawi people for its self-determination and its independence. The delegates are parted to workshops such as the workshop of political action, trade union solidarity, natural resources, human rights and occupied zones, humanitarian aid, the youth, Women and jurists.
 
Opened on Friday under the theme: "Right to self-determination of the Saharawi people, for a more active European role within the framework of the United Nations", with the presence of the President of the Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz, the conference of Saragossa witnessed the intervention of the Belgian Senator, Pierre Galland, President of the European Coordination and many other speakers among whom Mr. Mehrez Amari, President of the Algerian Committee of support to Saharawi people (CNAPS).

The President of the Republic had underlined that it was time for the international community to clearly designate "the party that hinders the peaceful settlement" of the conflict in Western Sahara by implementing the Baker Plan which has an international consensus.

On his side, the President of the European Coordination of Solidarity with the Saharawi people (Task Force) and President of the Conference, Mr. Pierre Galand, affirmed in his intervention that the European associations and organisations of solidarity with the Saharawi people will pursue their action until the right to self-determination and to independence of this people be recognised and implemented.
