Beirut, 27/09/2004
(SPS) A group of Arab intellectuals

Council's pertinent resolutions", indicated a communiqué by the
Committee, SPS received.
"We, a group of Arab citizens representing no Arab official authority",
announce the constitution of an "Arab committee of support to Saharawi
people", stressed the text.
"Our committee will have to mobilise the Arab countries about the
sufferings the People of the Western Sahara is living since three
decades", emphasised the Committee, which plans to use all ways and
means to participate to "overcome" some obstacles erected in font of
the exercise by the Saharawi people of their legitimate rights
"conforming to UN's decisions".
The first Arab committee, which is thus constituted in Beirut, also
plans "to strengthen the ties between the Saharawi Arab people and its

The members of the committee will also work to "gave to the Saharawi
cause the presence that it deserves", starting from the "negative
consequences of the Western Sahara's conflict that opposes two Arab
peoples: Morocco and the Saharawi people for three decades despite of
UN's, Security Council's and African Union's efforts".
The Committee gathers Arab intellectuals, Universities' professors,
lawyers, journalists and writers, it was indicated. (SPS)
