COLONIES The Algerian Wilaya of El Taref offers 1 million Algerian Dinars to a holidays colony in favour of the Saharawi children

El Taref (Algeria), 26/07/2006 (SPS) 1 million Algerian Dinars was offered by the Wilaya (province) of El Taref to take in charge 120 Saharawi children, accompanied with Saharawi monitors, for holidays in the Wilaya since July the 18th, indicated the Algerian Press Service, APS, quoting an Algerian official source.

This financial envelope, decided last Monday during an ordinary session of the General assembly of the Wilaya, was transferred to the Direction of social action of the Wilaya in charge of the follow up of this operation of solidarity, it was indicated.

The Saharawi children, who sojourn in the Wilaya of El Taref, for a month hand half will also take profit of a wide programme of cultural, sports activities in addition to leisure organised by the local authorities so as to guarantee them an agreeable vacations, it was further said.

Savagely tortured a Saharawi woman transferred to a hospital in the occupied city of Bojador

 

 


Bojador (occupied territories), 26/07/2006 (SPS) The Saharawi citizen, Toueilia Ali Hammad, was transported in emergency last Tuesday to the hospital of the occupied city of Bojador after she was subjected "to savage and inhumane torture" by the Moroccan forces of repression, according to eyewitnesses.

The Saharawi woman was walking in a street heading to the market and was attacked by members of the Moroccan auxiliary forces who harassed her "sexually", before starting "insulting her with ignoble, despising and vile expressions", it was stressed.

The woman reacted to the insults and started chanting political slogans to the face of their aggressors, mainly saying: "Long live Polisario", "Long live the Saharawi Republic", "Down with the colonial occupation".

The Moroccan agents started then to savagely beat her until she lost consciousness and abandoned her in the street. She was then transported by some Saharawi citizens to the emergencies of a hospital in the occupied city of Bojador in a critical state, the same sources indicated. (SPS)
