SADR ratified the protocole for the creation of African Union's Peace an Security Council

Addis Ababa, 26/05/2004 (SPS) Foreign Affairs Minister, Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, deposited Wednesday at African Union seat (UA) the ratification of the Protocol relative to the creation of the UA's Council of Peace and Security, reported an official source.

Mr.Ould Salek, who was taking part to the first session of the Council of Peace and Security(CPS) held at the level of UA's Heads of States and Government, handed over the Saharawi document during an official ceremony in the presence of the President of the African Commission, Alpha Omar Konaré, it was indicated.

In its Charter, the CPS insists on the respect of the borders inherited during independence, the respect of sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Member States and on the inalienable right to independence.

It should be recalled that SADR, a founder member of the African Union, already ratified the constitution of the African Parliament. (SPS)
