Kenya announces its recognition of SADR




 


Joint communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kenya and the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic



The Government of the Republic of Kenya and the Government of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic, desirous to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, have agreed to establish diplomatic relations, at ambassadorial level, in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, of April 1961. The agreement will enter into force with effect from the date of exchange of notes.

In establishing diplomatic relations, the two countries reiterate their adherence to the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations and the Constitutive Act of the African Union.

In witness whereof, the undersigned Representatives duly authorised by their respective Governments, have signed this joined communiqué in two originals, in the English language.
