24/08/2004 (SPS) Saharawi Union of Jurists (UJS), denounced Tuesday the
brutal intervention of Moroccan authorities of occupation against
Saharawi family of Mr. Bachir Seiciri, expressing its preoccupation
about the alarming situation of human rights in occupied territories of
Western Sahara, indicated a communiqué of the Union SPS received.
"Sunday night, some drunken Moroccan police agents in civil clothing
had brutally entered in the house of Bachir Seiciri insulting the
members of his family. During this intervention the Saharawi family was
subjected to ill-treatment, beaten, tortured and insulted", underlined
the communiqué.
As a result to the ill-treatment the mother, Fatimetu Ebleila, was
taken in emergency to the military hospital of El Aaiun. She had "many
injuries and her daughter Emneia Seicri, is equally seriously injured
in her hands and feet", added the same source.
The UJS called the United Nations, which is present in Western Sahara
since 1991 to intervene to "put an end to the tragedy Saharawi people
is living in occupied territories of Western Sahara".
To UJS "these violations will only end by the establishment of peace
through the organisation of a fair and impartial referendum on
Self-determination under the aegis of the UN, in order to allow
Saharawi people to freely choose the final status of this territory".
On another hand, another Saharawi citizen, Mahmoud Mustafa Haddad, was
imprisoned last Wednesday by Moroccan police in El for having changed a
Moroccan flag by the Saharawi one… he was tortured and burned with
cigarettes and is actually in the Black Jail (Carcela Negra) in El
Aaiun.(SPS)

The Envoy of the President of the Republic received by the Head of the
Sate of Mauritania
Nouakchott, 24/08/2004 (SPS) The Envoy of the President of the
Republic, Khalil Sidi Mohamed, Minister of occupied territories and
Saharawi communities abroad, was received Monday in Nouakchott by Mr.
Maaouya Ould Sid'Ahmed Taya, President of the Islamic Republic of
Mauritania, reported an official source.
Mr. Khalil declared to the Mauritanian Press Agency (AMI) that he
handed over to Mauritanian President a message from his Saharawi
counterpart, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, President of the SADR. "This
message of solidarity is of concerned with enforcing the relationships
of fraternity and exchange of contacts concerning the dominating
situation in Western Sahara", he said.
The Saharawi envoy, then, put forward the
considerable success Mauritania realised in development, indicated AMI.
The meeting took place with the presence of Mr. Ahmed Salem Ould
Tebakh, Counsellor at the Mauritanian Presidency (SPS)
