The Presidential participation to the investiture of Evo Morales strengthens the relations with Latino America, (Saharawi Ambassador to Venezuela)

La Paz (Bolivia), 24/01/2006 (SPS) The participation of the President of the Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz, to the ceremony of investiture of the newly elected Bolivian President, Evo Morales, is a new step towards the strengthening of the bilateral relations between the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic and the Latino American States, declared on Tuesday the Saharawi Ambassador to Venezuela, Haj Ahmed, Member of the presidential delegation in la Paz.

 

"The participation of President Mohamed Abdelaziz, heading a high level Saharawi delegation, to the official ceremony of transfer of power in Bolivia, was a splendid opportunity to strengthen the official relations between the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic and Bolivia, on one hand, and o the other with the other nations of the Latino America", Haj Ahmed said in a an exclusive statement to SPS.

 

The Saharawi diplomat affirmed that this participation is, in itself, "an act that equal the recent recognition of the Saharawi Republic by Uruguay, and shows the strength of the diplomatic position of our country in the Latino America", estimating that this "is a proof n the political and diplomatic isolation of the Moroccan regime on the international scene".

 

The President of the Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz, participated on Sunday at the seat of the Bolivian Parliament to the ceremony of investiture of the newly elected President of Bolivia, Evo Morales, with the presence of many Heads of States, Governments and foreign delegations, it should be recalled.

 

The Saharawi presidential delegation is composed of the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, Saharawi Ambassador to Venezuela, Haj Ahmed Barek Allah, and the Councillor to the President, Mr. Aabdati Breika.

 

The Head of the Stat had had meetings with many Heads of States and Governments during the ceremony, whom he briefed on the last political and humanitarian developments in Western Sahara and the policies of repression adopted by the Moroccan Government against the Saharawi helpless citizens in the occupied territories of the non-self-governing territory and in the South of Morocco. End of the President of the Republic’s visit to Bolivia     

 

 

 

 

La Paz (Bolivia), 24/01/1006 (SPS) The President of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz, finished on Monday evening his visit to the Bolivian capital, la Paz, after having attended the ceremony of transfer of power in Bolivia between the former President Edouardo Rodriguez Belice, and the newly elected Bolivian President, Evo Morales, reported a source close to the Saharawi Presidential delegation.

 

Accompanied by a high level delegation, Mr. Abdelaziz, was received last Friday in the Bolivian capital, La Paz, by the Bolivian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Armando Loaisa, accompanied by many high officials, the same source added.

 

He was received on Saturday by the former Bolivian President, Edouardo Rodriguez Belice, at the Bolivian Government’s Palace, after a reception organised on the honour of the Heads of States, Governments and Delegations participating in the ceremony of investiture of the new Bolivian President, Evo Morales.

The President of the Republic’s Special Envoy received by the President of the Mauritanian Military Council of Justice and Democracy     

 

 

 

 

Nouakchott, 24/01/2006 (SPS) Mr. El Khalil Sid’Mhamed, Saharawi Minister of Occupied Territories and Communities and Special Envoy of the President of the Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz, was received Monday morning in Nouakchott, by the Head of the Mauritanian State, President of the Mauritanian Military Council of Justice and Democracy, Colonel Ely Ould Mohamed Vall, reported a Saharawi official source.

After his meeting with the Mauritanian President, Mr. El Khalil declared to the Mauritanian Press, that he handed over a message from the Saharawi President to the Mauritanian Head of State on the last developments of the Western Sahara, especially about the meeting of the UN’s Security Council held on Wednesday as well as the perspective of progress of the question.

The audience took place with the presence of Mr. Mohammed Lemine Ould Dahi, Director of the Mauritanian President’s Cabinet, and Mr. Dedoud Ould Abdellahi, Counsellor to the presidency.

Mauritania, maintains relations of good neighbourhood and mutual respect with the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic. It is also considered, in addition to Algeria and the African Union, as observers in the enforcement of the UN’s peace plan in Western Sahara, it should be recalled. (SPS)

OCCUPIED TERRITORIES/SOUTH OF MOROCCO/DEMONSTRATIONS

The Saharawis in Assa call for the "immediate release of all Saharawi political prisoners"       

 

 

 

 

Assa (South of Morocco), 24/01/2006 (SPS) The Saharawi population in Assa organised, on Monday, a big demonstration calling for the "immediate and unconditional release of the Saharawi political prisoners" and "congratulated the Saharawi emblematic human rights activist, Aminatou Haidar", after her release last January the 17th 2006 by the Moroccan forces of occupation, reported SPS’s correspondent on the ground.

 

Demonstrators, who marched through the main streets of the city of Assa, raised placards calling for the "immediate and unconditional release of the Saharawi political prisoners" and "congratulated the Saharawi emblematic human rights activist, Aminatou Haidar", after her release last January the 17th 2006 by the Moroccan forces of occupation, a day before the judgement of 13 Saharawi political prisoners, including 7 Saharawi human rights activists, the same source added.

 

They also chanted slogans calling for the "independence of Western Sahara" and "rejecting any solution outside the exercise by the Saharawi people of their right to self-determination and to independence", which inevitably pass through the organisation of a free, just and transparent referendum under the supervision of the United Nations, it was added.

 

The demonstrators also expressed "their solidarity with all Saharawis in the occupied territories of Western Sahara and south of Morocco, who are submitted to torture by the Moroccan forces", reaffirming the "pursuit of the uprising of independence, which ask for the exercise by the Saharawi people of their right to self-determination in addition to the release of all the Saharawi political detainees", SPS’s correspondent concluded.
