Algiers, 23/10/2005 (SPS) Algerian National Committee of solidarity with the Saharawi people (CNASPS) estimated that the decolonisation of Western Sahara "must urgently be materialised through the enforcement of the Baker Plan, and through UN’s Security Council assuming its responsibility as a body in charge f maintaining peace and security".
In a press release publicised Saturday, the CNASPS condemned "the strategy of confrontation and escalade adopted by Morocco as a permanent political style" that consists in "that often put the blame on Algeria accusing it of been responsible of the obstruction of a solution to the conflict".
"In this respect, the CNASPS recalls that the indignant and dishonest excuse used by Moroccan Government in an attempt to accuse Algeria of the sad situation, is an old strategy that would not affect the conviction, determination and popular attachment of the Algerian society to international legality”, the press release said.
The Association, chaired by Mr. Mahrez Lamari, remains "convinced that nothing ca shake Saharawi people’s will and determination to recover its rights".
CNASPS also recalled that a self-determination referendum "culminated the heroic struggle of the Algerian people and remains convinced that sooner or later this inalienable right will also prevail in Western Sahara". (SPS)
