Three Saharawi detainees brought before the examining magistrate of the Moroccan colonial court in El Aaiun

El Aaiun (occupied territories), 22/07/2006 (SPS) Three Saharawi political detainees appeared on Thursday before the examining magistrate of the Moroccan colonial court in El Aaiun, to be retaken to prison again in the same cell with criminals in the notorious Carcel Negra, concordant sources indicated.

The three Saharawi political prisoners: Didda Abdessalam, Mohamed Salem Bahaha and Mouloud Elhaj, were arrested for having participated in peaceful demonstrations, the same sources added.

The Moroccan forces of repression accuse the three political prisoners of been the instigators of raising Saharawi Republic flags, which took place in the occupied city of Smara recently, it was added.

The Moroccan authorities, it should be stressed, undertook lately a wide campaign of arrest and pursuit against the Saharawi human rights activists in all the Saharawi occupied territories of the Western Sahara.

On another hand, a Saharawi youth, El Houssein Limlih, was arrested on Thursday evening during a demonstration that took part in "Porco" of El Aaiun.

On his part, the Saharawi citizen, Freik Mohammed Brahim Mahmoud, was abducted last June 08, 2006, some 50 km in El Aaiun by the Moroccan royal gendarmerie and transported in a Jeep towards a military base where he spent three days incarcerated and subjected to torture.

Mr. Freik affirmed in a testimony SPS received that he was transported after tat towards a destination he could not locate where he was subjected to "all forms of torture, electric chocks, beaten … “, and other ill-treatments exercised by the Moroccan forces of occupation.
