27 February School
(refugees' Camps), 19/09/2004 (SPS) Belgian Senator, Pierre Galand
(Socialist Party), revealed Sunday in 27 February School camp, that "
All international bodies recognise Saharawi people's legitimate right",
estimating that the Saharawi struggle motivates "legitimacy and
peaceful coexistence between the peoples of the world".
Chairing a delegation from the Belgian Senate composed of Mrs. Jacinta
De Rock (Socialist Green), Mr. Jean Cornil (Socialist Party) for a two
days visit to SADR, Mr. Galand underlined that the Saharawi people are
defending their legitimate rights, which are "recognised by the
international community".
"Your rights are also recognised by the International Court of Justice,
UN's General Assembly, UN's Security Council, African Union, the
International Assembly of the European Union and the European
Parliament, the International Socialist, International Liberal,
International Christian Democrat and by all international bodies", he
stressed during a conference to the population in 27 February camp.
"All Human Rights' and peace activists are now unanimous in their
support to the Saharawi cause", he noted, estimating that South
Africa's President, Thabo Mbeki, has just adopted "an important
initiative for Africa and the world by recognising SADR and Saharawi
people's right to self-determination".
To the Senator the adoption of this position in September 2004 is "very
important", since it intervenes "in the eve of the UN General
Assembly's meetings and few time before the UN Secretary General hands
over his report in the end of the coming October".
Mr. Galand also noted that the recognition of SADR, last Wednesday,
will exhort and stimulate the international solidarity "and strengthen
us in our solidarity actions with you at the eve of the 30th annual
conference of solidarity with the Saharawi people, which will take
place in Spain this October".
The Belgian Senate delegation arrived Saturday in a two days work visit
of solidarity, during which it will be received by the Parliament and
the President of the Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz, as well as by other
high Saharawi political officials, it was indicated. (SPS)

about the deterioration of human right situation in occupied territories
Aaiun, 19/09/2004 (SPS) Saharawi political detainees condemned Friday
from La Carcel Negra (Black Jail) in El Aaiun, "the serious process
human rights question knows in occupied territories of Western Sahara",
demanding from Moroccan authorities "to immediately release all
Saharawi political prisoners and account for the reported missing
persons".
In a communiqué released Friday, after "the summary trials"
Thursday of the two young Saharawis, Mahmoud Moustapha Haddad and
Mohamed Mahmoud Fekak by the appeal court of El Aaiun, the Saharawi
political detainees called upon "all human rights organisations to
intervene near Moroccan authorities to put an end to the serious human
rights' violations perpetrated by Morocco in occupied territories of
Western Sahara" and face "the serious process human rights know in
occupied territories of Western Sahara".
Meanwhile, Saharawi human rights activists in occupied territories of

all Saharawi political detainees in Moroccan cells", expressing their
"solidarity with their families" and exhorting them to struggle "for
the release of their sons with all the means in their possession",
indicated a communiqué released by the activists, of which SPS
received a copy.
"We demand the improvement of the conditions of the Saharawi political
detainees in Moroccan prisoners, conforming to international norms
relating to prisoners' treatment", underlined the same source.
The Saharawi activists, had also launched an appeal "to all
international human rights organisations and associations, in order to
put an end to the flagrant human rights violations in occupied
territories of Western Sahara", they stressed.
The two victims of this summary judgement, read the text, did only
express "their support to Saharawi people's right to
self-determination", by rejecting Moroccan colonial fait accomplit in
Western Sahara "before of the Moroccan court"

two Saharawi political prisoners, Mahmoud Moustafa Haddad and Mohamed
Mahmoud Fakak, respectively to 2 years imprisonment and 5000 Dirhams
fine to the first and 4 years imprisonment to the second.
The Association of Saharawi prisoners and disappeared's Families
(AFAPREDESA) and Saharawi Jurists Union (UJS) had denounced the
violation of individuals right to fair judgement, condemning the
torture and ill-treatment to which these two Saharawi citizens were
subjected. (SPS)
