Workers sit-in in front of the Phosbucraa Company’s bureaux in El Aaiun

El Aaiun (occupied territories), 19/04/2005 (SPS) The workers of the company of Phosbucraa in El Aaiun, organised on Monday a sit-in of protest against the critical situation they live and against the reject by the company of their legitimate claims.

They demanded their salaries "as laid down by the accords of the handing over the company of Phosbucraa, signed between the Spanish Institution of Industry and the Royal Bureau of Phosphate", indicated the correspondent of SPS on the ground.

The Saharawi workers protested for hours in front of the bureau of the company, while the Moroccan authorities did not respond to their claims, it was indicated.

On another hand tens of Saharawi women, living in tents, organised a sit-in in front of the seat of the Moroccan colonial administration in El Aaiun, to ask for housing for their families, knowing that the Moroccan authorities distribute house on Moroccan settlers while it deprive Saharawis of them. Sit-in of some Saharawi young people in front of the Moroccan Ministry of Interior in Rabat



Rabat, 19/04/2005 (SPS) More than 90 young Saharawis, most of whom were employed against their will in 1987 within the framework of the massive deportation by Morocco of Saharawi youth, had organised on Monday an unlimited sit-in in front of the seat of Moroccan Ministry of Interior in Rabat to claim for their right t o work and to their salaries reported SPS correspondent on the ground.

Among these young persons, many were victims to forced redundancy, while other are deprived of their salaries for months.

Saharawis are generally deprived of their right to work in occupied territories of Western Sahara and replaced by Moroccan settlers in systematic policy adopted by Moroccan authorities in Occupied Territories of Western Sahara.

Moroccan forces dispersed a demonstration, organised by Saharawi students in the university "El Irfan", last March the 8. The students were claiming for Saharawi people right to self-determination and independence and to the release of Saharawi political prisoners. (SPS)
