(SPS) Mr. Mhamed Khadad, member of the National Secretariat, accompanied
by Lamine Yahiaoui, Saharawi representative in the Scandinavian countries,
attended the Conference of Swedish Social Democrat Party, in power, which
was held from the 16th to the 18th April 2004 in Stockholm, indicated an
official source.
On this occasion the delegation made many contacts with leaders of the Swedish
party and meetings with a number of foreign delegations present to the conference.
The delegation had visited Norway few times before, where it had held meetings
with representatives of political parties, mainly the representatives of
international relations of the Socialist Party, Left Party and the Greens.
It had also had meetings in Parliament and in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
with representatives of the Foreign Affairs Institution of Norway with the
Mutual Aid of Churches.
The majority of the personalities met with, had expressed their preoccupation
in front of the delays regarding the enforcement of the United Nations' resolutions
on Western Sahara, and expressed their support to an immediate solution to
the conflict, based on the resolution 1495 of the Security Council,
which calls for the implementation of the Baker Plan, entitled "Peace Plan
for the self-determination of the People of Western Sahara", it was indicated.(SPS)
