TERRITORIES/NGO Obstruction to the foundation of
a Saharawi association in Dakhla

Dakhla (occupied territories),
17/11/2004 (SPS) Moroccan colonial authorities in Dakhla town still
hinder the Saharawi Association of Action for the Future from been
created. Knowing that the association's status was deposited since
months between the hands of the authorities of occupation, has
announced a communiqué of the bureau of the association, of
which SPS received a copy.
Chaired by Mr. Zeini Beray, this association is composed of ten other
native citizens of this town.
"Preoccupied with the pure and simple rejection, by the Moroccan
authorities of the dossier" of their association, the members had
denounced this attitude that "violates the articles 9 of the Moroccan
constitution relative to the right of foundation of associations
besides Human rights conventions in its articles 19 and 20, as well as
all international conventions relative to civic rights". (SPS)
