|
Tan Tan (South of Morocco),
17/07/2006 (SPS) The family of the Saharawi political prisoner, Salama Maulud
Brahim Lehmam, sent an "urgent appeal" to all human rights organisations to
intervene to "put pressures" on the Moroccan authorities so as to release their
son along with "all the others Saharawi political prisoners", according to a
press release publicised by the family, of which SPS received a copy.
The family asked all international and regional bodies to intervene so as "to
put an end to the serious situation of health" in which their son is, in a room
in the Hassan II hospital in the Moroccan city of Agadir, because of the attempt
of assassination he underwent while in prison in Inzegan.
In the press release, the family declared its "unconditioned solidarity" with
its son and with "all the other Saharawi political prisoners", the text added.
The family considers the Moroccan authorities as responsible for "all what can
happen" to its son in the future, affirming in the end its support "to the
Saharawi people’s rights to self-determination and independence".
