SPS OCCUPIED TERRITORIES/REPRESSION Two women wounded and three houses ransacked by the Moroccan colonial forces in Smara 14.06.05

Smara (occupied territories), 17/06/2006 (SPS) At least two women were wounded and three houses ransacked by the Moroccan colonial forces during demonstrations, which took place on Thursday in Smara, on the occasion of the historical uprising of Zemla against the Spanish colonialism, in June the 17th 1970, concordant sources indicated.
Saharawi citizens, Mrs. Salka Mohamed Fadel and Mrs. Maïziza Saaid Baba were seriously wounded after they tried, with other women, "to stop the Moroccan colonial forces from ransacking their houses", according to the same sources.
Commemorating the same occasion the Saharawi students in Marrakech organised a sit-in of solidarity with the Saharawi political prisoners. A gesture that was marked by the intervention by cell phone of the Saharawi political prisoner, Abdallahi Al Hassan, from his cell in the prison of Ait Melloul. SPS)

SPS OCCUPIED TERRITORIES/SOUTH OF MOROCCO/HUNGER STRIKE Saharawi political prisoners in Inzegan suspend their hunger strike

Inzegan (Sud du Maroc), 17/06/2006 (SPS) Saharawi political prisoners in the Moroccan prison of Inzegan decided on Thursday to stop the hunger strike they started last June the 7th, after they received an engagement from the Moroccan penitentiary authorities to gather them in a cell and to allow them medical care, good food and families visits, concordant sources indicated.
The political prisoners, eleven in total, had started a hunger strike since last Wednesday, to protest against the inhumane conditions of detention they are living and against the daily harassment.
The political prisoners are: Najiaa Lbachir, El Khorchi Wissi, Banga Cheikh, Bourgaa Omar, Labyad Hamdi, Lmansouri Driss, Tamek Mohamed, Kjout Brahim,Bakrimi Moustapha, Rguibi Lkhlifa, Lehmam Salama, Lefkir Alhassan. (SPS)

SPS SADR/ITALY/SOLIDARITY Italian Humanitarian aid to the Saharawi refugeesY

Roma, 17/ 06/2006 (SPS) A plane carrying some 11 tons of medicine, food, clothes and equipments will fly this Sunday from the military airport of Pisa (North Italy) to the Saharawi refugee camps, according to APS.
This aid initiated by the municipalities, associations and NGOs of the regions of Emilie Romagna and Toscana, intervene as a continuity to a similar initiative undertaken during the floods and torrential rains that stroke the Saharawi refugee camps last February causing the destruction of houses, hospitals, schools and administrations.
