The Saharawi citizens: Tourki Sidemou Khalil and Laraibi Mohamed Ali Houssein were recently arrested, according to the same sources, "for having participated to peaceful demonstrations that took place in Feim El Wad (El Aaiun Beach) to denounce the Moroccan presence in the Western Sahara and advocating the Saharawi people’s right to self-determination and independence".

On another hand, the Saharawi citizens in Maatala Street organised a sit-in in the same day asking for "the immediate release" of the citizen, Jamal Mohamed Fadel, who was arrested recently by the Moroccan forces of repression and the respect of the human rights in the occupied territories of the Western Sahara.

The Moroccan forces of occupation "savagely" intervened causing dozens wounded among the demonstrators, who lifted the Saharawi flags and chanted slogans in favour of the independence of the Saharawi Republic, it was added.

It should be noted that Maatala is "completely" sealed by the different corps of the Moroccan forces of occupation through patrols that control all the Saharawi by-passers "without distinction", the same sources added.

Moreover the Moroccan colonial forces in the "Lemseïd", remains "alert" since last July the 30th, after the distribution of flags of the Saharawi Republic and tracts advocating the "immediate withdrawal" of the Moroccan occupation from the Western Sahara. (SPS)
