SPS Three persons at least arrested by the Moroccan forces of occupation in the occupied city of Smara 16.01.06

Smara (occupied territories) ,16/01/2006(SPS) Three persons a least were arrested last Saturday by the Moroccan forces of occupation in the cultural capital of Western Sahara, Smara, during demonstrations organised after the burial of the first dead victim of the uprising of independence, the late Lembarki Hamdi, who was killed under Moroccan authorities torture last October the 30thui, the correspondent of SPS reported.
The demonstrators organised a sit-in in the Tan Tan Street. They raised the flags of the Saharawi Republic and chanted slogans asking for the "Saharawi people’s self-determination and independence", the same source indicated.
The Moroccan forces of occupation used excessive force in their intervention against demonstrators. They arrested Saharawi citizens, Mr. Moulaye Ahmed Elouadnouni, Mr. Soueilim Amidan and Mr. Labeidi Karoum.
These three citizens were tortured and ill-treated before been released few hours later, the same source added.
Another Saharawi citizen, Mohamed Mohamed Embarek, was arrested on Friday by the Moroccan forces of occupation in the same city and was transferred to a detention where he was tortured for hours before been abandoned in a street by the police, it should be recalled. (SPS)
