Closure of the annual seminary of Polisario Front and SADR's senior executive members

15.03.05

Dakhla (refugees camps), 15/03/2005 (SPS) The annual seminary of Polisario Front and SADR's senior executive members ended its works Tuesday after two days "rich debates on the evaluation of the crucial stage Saharawi people's struggle is passing through to recover its rights to freedom and independence", according to the terms of the final communiqué of this session.

A stage characterised, according to the text, by "the blockage of the UN's peace process expected to achieve the decolonisation of Western Sahara through a free and fair referendum for the Saharawi people", stressed the communiqué. It added that this blockage is caused by "the intransigence of Morocco and the inability of the UN to organise a referendum and to impose the respect of the international legality to Morocco".

The seminary noted with "satisfaction"(…) "the increase of the struggle of the Saharawi population in occupied territories and South Morocco and their rejection to surrender, despite the repression, to Moroccan occupation". It stressed that the popular uprising proves "the impossibility of stopping the struggle" of the Saharawi State for independence, which "accepts neither concession nor compromise", said the communiqué.

The meeting put forward "the international support to the Saharawi cause proved through the international relations of Polisario Front and SADR through States and political parties", as well as through the numerous visits of the occidental civil society to the Saharawi refugees camps and liberated territories of SADR.

It hailed the effective role played by all the components of the Saharawi society "especially the youth" in all sectors of activities, calling them to "more action to realise the goals of the current stage of our struggle", added the text.

The meeting called all persons who believe in peace and justice to put "the needed pressures on the Moroccan Government to push it respect the decisions of the international bodies calling for the self-determination of the Saharawi people".

The seminary, which was marked by the presentation of reports on the different political, security and diplomatic activities, adopted documents of works on all the levels of the political life and addressed a message to Algerian President, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, to the UN's Secretary General, Kofi Annan, to Saharawi militants and to the Saharawi population in occupied territories. Polisario Front and SADR senior executive members' annual seminary interpellates Annan on the blockage of the referendum

Dakhla (refugees camps), 15/03/2005 (SPS) The annual seminary of Polisario Front and SADR's senior executive members, held in Dakhla the 14th and 15th March, interpellated UN's Secretary General, Kofi Annan, on the blockage of the UN's referendum in Western Sahara and on Human Rights violations in occupied territories.

"You are certainly aware that it is the Moroccan occupant who, in disregarding the international community appeals and Security Council and General Assembly's resolutions, (...) stops the implementation of the settlement plan and hinders your efforts and Security Council's", underlined the message, of which SPS received a copy.

In parallel to this "policy of obstruction and rebellion", Morocco continues "trampling on the most fundamental rights of Saharawi citizens, without defence, in occupied territories and south Morocco", underlined the letter.

A repression that strikes, currently, all the classes of the Saharawi population "especially women and students, who defied the taboos of the occupation and claimed their right to express their opinion and defend Saharawi people's right to decide over their future".

The message, finally, called for all kind of actions "to put an end to the repression committed against Saharawi citizens without defence under the sight and hearing of the MINURSO" and so as "all the protection be granted to them conforming to international conventions". (SPS)

Polisario Front addresses a message of congratulation to Algerian President Bouteflika

Dakhla (refugees camps), 15/03/2005 (SPS) The annual seminary of Polisario Front and SADR's senior executive members addressed a message of congratulation to the Algerian President, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, in which it hailed the steady position of support of Algeria to Saharawi people right to self-determination and independence.

"We are delighted with the indefectible support of Algeria, with total harmony with the international community, despite the pressures and the attempts aiming at imposing false solution to a problem of decolonisation", underlined the seminary closing its works Tuesday in Dakhla.

Recalling Mr. Bouteflika his visit to the Saharawi refugees camps, the message expressed the conviction of the Saharawi people that Algeria "strong with her glorious past and with its leading international position would save no effort for the establishment of peace, security and stability of the region on the basis of the respect of Saharawi people's legitimate rights to self-determination and independence".

Opened last Monday in Dakhla, under the presidency of the Head of the State, Mohamed Abdelaziz, the seminary was closed with the adoption of many internal documents, a final communiqué and many letters. (SPS)
