El Aaiun (occupied capital of the Saharawi Republic), 14/01/2006 (SPS) Thousands Saharawi citizens, coming from the different occupied cities of Western Sahara and south Morocco, participated on Saturday in El Aaiun to the funeral of the late Hamdi Lembarki, a young Saharawi demonstrator killed under torture by Moroccan forces of repression last October the 30th 2005. They condemned the Moroccan human rights violations in the occupied territories of Western Sahara and called for the quick finishing of the decolonisation of the non-self-governing territory, the correspondent of SPS reported.

"They came from Tan Tan, Assa, Goulimine, Boujdour, Dakhla, Smara and from the Moroccan universities to say goodbye to their companion and comrade of the struggle for freedom, the young martyr of the Saharawi Uprising of Independence, the late Mr. Hamdi Lembarki, who was killed by the Moroccan forces of repression, under torture, for the only reason of having dared say No! to the Moroccan repression, No! to the colonisation of Western Sahara and No! to the international silence in the face of the Moroccan violation of the international legality", declared a Saharawi human rights activist to SPS, asking for anonymity.

The participants to the funeral covered the dead body of their companion with the flag of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic, chanting slogans that condemn the Moroccan human rights violation in Western Sahara and asking for the judgement of the Moroccan persons responsible for the assassination of the Late as well as those accountable for the murder of another Saharawi citizen, Lekhlifi Abba Cheij, killed without any reason by a Moroccan police officer in Tan Tan (south of Morocco), last December the 03rd 2005.

"This funeral, in itself, is a clear rejection of the Moroccan presence and to the repressive and colonial practices exercised by the different Moroccan corpses of security against Saharawi citizens in the occupied territories of Western Sahara and south of Morocco", the correspondent of SPS stressed.

He further underlined that the participants to the funeral had expressed their full solidarity with the family of the Late, which has struggled hard for two months so as to be able to burry its son according to the Islamic rituals after the identification of the persons accountable for his death.

Moroccan authorities, who were refusing to deliver the dead body of the Late to his family, finally recognised its responsibility of his assassination. "A Moroccan investigation identified two Moroccan torturers as the direct responsible for his assassination, mainly Ichi Abou Hassan and a certain Bahja, both members of the Moroccan Group of Urban Security (GUS)", the same source added.

The assassination by the Moroccan authorities of the Late Lembarki, who was surnamed by the Saharawi population in the occupied territories as "the first Martyr of the Uprising of Independence", was followed by another assassination, this time in Tan Tan, of a youngman, Lekhlifi Abba Cheij, who was beaten to death by a Moroccan police officer near the victim-s house, it should be recalled.
