SPS SADR/ALGERIA/SUMMER UNIVERSITY Continuation of the Saharawi Republic summer university’s activities in Algiers 13.07.05

Algiers, 13/07/2006 (SPS) The activities of the Polisario Front’s summer University, organised within the framework of the week of solidarity with the Saharawi Republic, was pursued Wednesday in Algiers, the Algerian Press Service, APS, indicated.
Many subjects of the Saharawi question marked the work of this day especially the discussion of the subjects of decolonisation and the respect of the international legality through the Saharawi people’s right to self-determination.
In a lecture entitled the "Saharawi woman: between the duty of liberation and the requirement of the State", Mrs. Khadidja Hamdi, the Saharawi first lady, affirmed that the "struggle continues and will continue until victory".
The lecturer underlined the role of the Saharawi woman in the struggle, recalling that the woman succeeded in "conciliating between her duty of struggling and the mission of building the institutions of the State through her very precious contributions on the political scene".
On her side, the Secretary General of the Union of the Algerian Women Union (UNFA), Mrs. Nouria Hafsi asked for the support of the "Saharawi people’s right to self-determination", recalling that "the indefectible position of Algeria n favour of the just causes around the world".
Mrs. Saida Benhabilès, President of the Algerian women movement for the solidarity with the rural women, called on the "mobilisation" of everybody to convince the international community about the just nature of the Saharawi cause and to oeuvre to consecrate the Saharawi people’s right to decide on their future.
The week of the summer university was also marked by a meeting between Saharawi and Algerian elected officials as well as the organisation of many cultural activities that gave "the full dimension to the solidarity of the Algerian State and people and their indefectible positions in favour of the Saharawi cause".
