Breika Abderahman, SADR's
ambassador to Ethiopia, presented his letters of accreditation as
SADR's
permanent representative to the African Union (AU), on Friday, to Mr.
Alpha
Omar Conaré, President of AU's commission, reported a
communiqué released by
Saharawi Embassy in Ethiopia.
In a meeting
with the Saharawi diplomat, during a
ceremony organised in AU's seat, Alpha Omar Conaré, considered
that the
Saharawi problem is "an unfinished decolonisation question ".

of the role that AU have to play in
the defence of Saharawi people legitimate rights to freedom and
independence,
stressing that Western Sahara conflict can be resolved if Morocco
implement the
pertinent UN's resolutions.

follows
with great interest the developments of Western Sahara's conflict.

SADR/UN/USA
UN is unable to impose its resolutions
relating to
Western Sahara, declares Brahim Ghali
MADRID,
13/06/04 (SPS) Baker's resignation from his mission as UN Secretary
General’s
Personal Envoy to Western Sahara, proves "the lack of influence and the
weakness of UN's Security Council in imposing its resolutions and in
particular
the resolution 1495 of July 2003, relating to the conflict" in Western
Sahara, declared Polisario Front's representative to Spain, Brahim
Ghali, to
Europa Press, the Spanish Press Agency, on Sunday.
According
to the Saharawi diplomat, the resignation of the American former
Secretary of
State, James Baker, constitutes an "explicit form of objection against
the
intransigence of Morocco", the latter been permanently disregarding
"the international community and ignoring Security Council's
resolutions", an attitude that proves that UN "is unable to implement
its own resolutions".
It should
be recalled that according to a statement affirmed by Boukhari Ahmed,
SADR's permanent
representative to UN, SADR's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has judged
Baker's
resignation as a "serious setback" to UN' efforts for
the
completion of the decolonisation process in the last colony in Africa.
Boukhari
considered that this event is no more than the pure expression of the
American
diplomat's indignation in front of "the intransigent attitude of the
Moroccan regime", which has never stopped erecting obstacles in front
of
any "fair and peaceful" solution to Western Sahara conflict. (SPS)
