Agadir (Morocco), 12/03/2006 (SPS) Three students at least wounded in confrontations that took place in Friday evening, in the University of Agadir, between Moroccan students under the orders of the Moroccan secret services and Saharawi students, reported SPS’s correspondent on the ground.

A group of the Saharawi students were victim to aggression and torture on Friday afternoon, of whom three were seriously wounded, mainly Al Asri Ramdan, wounded in his head, Majid Zein Al Arab, wounded in his arms and back and Boutmit Brahim, wounded in his back, the same source added.

Agents of the Moroccan militias, under the lead of the pilot Mohamed El Mehdi, DST officer in company of the director of the University Campus of Agadir, Merzoug, blocked some Saharawis’ rooms while units of the CMI and of police sealed the campus while mobile patrols continue their "purchasing Saharawis so as to torture them or ill-treat them", the same source indicated.

The correspondent of the SPS asserted that the Saharawis are under siege in their residences in the university campus and in the University of Literature in Agadir. He estimated that possible confrontations may occur at any moment, in which the Moroccan local authorities "assume the full responsibility and consequences" that may result of any aggression against the Saharawi students.

In response to these aggressions, the Saharawi students in Marrakech organised a peaceful sit-in to protest against these violations against their brothers in Agadir and to show their solidarity with their compatriots. (SPS)
