Chahid El Hafed, 11/08/2006 (SPS) A delegation of the African National
Congress, led by its Secretary General, Kgalema Mothlante, is expected Today
Friday in an official visit to the Saharawi Republic, announced an official
Saharawi source.
A popular reception is reserved to Mr. Mothlante in the wilaya of Smara where he
will be received by the leaders of the POLISARIO Front to the Saharawi Republic,
before having a meeting with the President of the President, Mohamed Abdelaziz,
it was indicated.
"The ANC remains attached to its constant positions supporting the Saharawi
people in their struggle for freedom and independence, and continues to hope for
the day of the independence of the Saharawi people in their territories,
"otherwise, none of us can really enjoy freedom as long as your people remain
under occupation", Mr. Mothlante wrote in a letter to the Saharawi President
last March on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Saharawi
Republic.
South Africa holds diplomatic relations at an ambassadorial level with the
Saharawi Republic since the recognition by Pretoria of the SADR, last September
the 15th 2004, it should be recalled.

Chahid El Hafed (refugee camps), 11/08/2006 (SPS) The President of the President, Mohamed Abdelaziz, affirmed that the recognition by South Africa of the Saharawi Republic last September the 15th 2004, is "an adequate reply to the Moroccan delays, its intransigence and refusal to subscribe to the international legality".
Receiving for a luncheon at presidency in the Chahid El Hafed the Secretary General of the African National Congress (ANC), Kgalame Mothlante, who is undertaking an official visit to the Saharawi Republic, Mr Abdelaziz highly appreciated "the historical position adopted by South Africa under the leadership of Mr. Thabo Mbeiki, in recognising the Saharawi Republic and establishing relations at an ambassadorial level".
"A position that surprises none since the ties between the ANC and the POLISARIO Front are deep, secular and daily developing, knowing that the two movements continue to struggle for the emancipation of the peoples of Africa and of the world", the Head of he Saharawi State added.
Enumerating the similarities between the peaceful struggles against the Apartheid in South Africa and the Saharawi citizens’ against the Moroccan colonialism, the Saharawi President stressed the resemblance between the methods of repression, tortures, abductions, show trials and assassinations adopted by the two repressive regimes.
"Despite this, we are decided, more than ever, to continue our legal struggle for national liberation until realising our objectives, mainly our inalienable right to self-determination and independence through a free, regular and transparent referendum under the auspices of the United Nations", the President of the Republic added.
Arrived Friday in an official visit to the Saharawi Republic, the Secretary General of the ANC, Mr. Kgalema Mothlante, had reiterated before in the Wilaya of Smara, the "indefectible" support of his country to the Saharawi people’s right to their independence. (SPS)

Chahid El Hafed (refugee camps), 11/08/2006 (SPS) Le The President of the President, Mohamed Abdelaziz, received, on Friday at the presidency, the Secretary General of the African National Congress (ANC), Kgalame Mothlante, who is undertaking an official visit to the Saharawi Republic.
The meeting took place with the presence of the members of the POLISARIO Front’s National Secretariat, the Walis (Governors) of the four refugee camps, the Secretary Generals of the mass organisations and the Saharawi Ambassador to Pretoria.
On the South African side, the meeting was attended by Mr. Mendix Msimang, General Treasurer of the ANC, Mr. Ratvbatsi Super Moloi, South African Ambassador to the Saharawi Republic and his first Secretary, Jaco Schoeman.
The excellent relations between the two countries and the ways of reinforcing them as well as the bilateral relations were the main subjects of the meeting between the two parties, which lasted for more than one hour, an official source indicated to the Sahara Press Service.
The ANC delegation arrived Today morning in an official visit to the Saharawi Republic, and was received n the wilaya of Smara by the Saharawi Prime Minister, Abdelkader Taleb Oumar, accompanied by many members of the POLISARIO Front’s National Secretarial and members of the Saharawi Republic’s Government and was granted a popular reception by the refugees of the Wilaya of Smara. SPS SADR/SOUTH AFRICA/VISIT The ANC Secretary General addressing the Saharawis: "we will be by your side until victory"

Smara (refugee camps), 11/08/2006 (SPS) "We will be by your side until the final victory", affirmed the Secretary General of the African National Congress (ANC), Kgalame Mothlante, in a speech he gave this Friday in the Wilaya of Smara, where he was received by the Prime Minister, Abdelkader Taleb Oumar, and many members of the National Secretariat and Government.
"We are here so as to assure you that your cause will never be forgotten. You can always count on us in this respect", Mr. Mothlante said, adding that his country "will always bring the Saharawi cause on the table in all forums in which South Africa will be present".
"And even after the victory we will always be by your side to face the challenges of development", he declared during a meeting that concluded the popular reception he was granted in the wilaya de Smara.
"A travers les manifestations et les marches pacifiques vous avez réussi à défaire le colonialisme", a soutenu M. Mothlante, fort de l'expérience de l'ANC contre l'Apartheid dans ce domaine précis.
"We feel the occupation you are facing as if we are ourselves victims to it", he said adding that the struggle of the Saharawi people "is an important part of the struggle of Africa for freedom" and that the POLISARIO Front, which is "the vanguard of this struggle, is a precious heritage that should be preserved".
The Secretary General of the ANC arrived this morning for an official visit the Saharawi Republic. He was received at the airport of Tindouf by Mr. Khattri Adouh, Member of the POLISARIO National Secretariat in charge for political orientation, as well as the Secretary Generals of the Saharawi organisations of women, youth and workers.
He will have a meeting with the President of the Republic and will visit many socio economical centres in the refugee camps, as well as the museum of war, it was indicated. (SPS)

SPS SADR/SOUTH AFRICA/VISIT "You are not alone", ANC affirms to the militants of the Intifada

Chahid El Hafed (refugee camps), 11/08/2006 (SPS) "You are not alone, and it is impossible to isolate you, we are by your side", the Secretary General of the African National Congress (ANC), Kgalame Mothlante, to the militants of the Saharawi Intifada in the occupied territories.
"You are very close to victory", Mr. Kgalame Mothlante said during a luncheon offered in his honour by the President of the Saharawi Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz, within the framework of an official visit the South African political personality is undertaking to the Saharawi Republic.
Mr. Monthlante noted that the "Saharawi women in the occupied territories are in the first ranks of the front of the struggle, the fascists do not know what to do and will thus be defeated".
The ANC Secretary General affirmed that its party, in power in South Africa, "will continue its support and cooperation with the Saharawi cause and its valiant people" and will "struggle by your side on all fronts".
On another hand, Mr. Monthlante was decorated by the President of the Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz, with the medal "20 of May", for his "indefectible support to the Saharawi people’s right to self-determination and independence", according to a presidential decree.
ANC and POLISARIO Front signed a common press release sanctioning this visit, the third of its kind signed by senior officials of the Saharawi Republic and South Africa. (SPS)
