San Sebastian (Spain), 10/05/2004 (SPS) Mr. Mohammed Khadad, member of the National Secretariat, Coordinator with the Minurso, said, in El Pais (Spanish newspaper), that his people did not expect a "confused" position from the new Spanish Government, hoping that the new complicity between Madrid et
Paris "would not be based on the negation of Saharawi people' right".

"That is not what we expected from the Socialist Government. Until now the statements were confused, as far as the respect of the rights of the two parties is concerned", he emphasised in an interview to the Spanish newspaper.

To Mr. Khadad, "Saharawi people are the only party who has got rights. Morocco had invaded their territory and thus has got no rights. In the contrary, Morocco must indemnify Saharawis", he stressed.

Asked about the reasons of the actual blockage, he considered that Morocco is the main cause, because it "always ignores United Nations' appeals", underlining that the new extension of the Minurso's mandate constitutes "a new proof of the inability of the UN to exert the needed pressures and to impose the respect of its resolutions", and this is basically due to the position of one of the UN's members, "namely, France", he deplored.(SPS)
