The Mozambican President will undertake "a visit of friendship, solidarity and work" to the SADR

Chahid El Hafed, 09/12/2004 (SPS) The President of the Republic of Mozambique, H.E. Joaquim Alberto Chissano, will undertake this December the 12th "a visit of friendship, solidarity and work" to the SADR, announced a communiqu2 by the presidency, of which SPS received a copy.

"As an answer to an invitation from the President of the Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz, the President of the Republic of Mozambique, H.E. Joaquim Alberto Chissano will undertake this December the 12th a visit of friendship, solidarity and work to the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic", underlined the communiqué.

"Intervening within the framework of the reinforcement of the perfect relations that had linked the two brother States and peoples all along their struggle for self-determination and independence, this historical visit will be an opportunity for the two Heads of State to deepen the discussions on questions of common interest and exchange points of view on regional, continental and international questions", added the text.

"The Government of SADR, the leadership of Polisario Front and the Saharawi people decided to organise a special and warm reception worthy of H.E. Joaquim Alberto Chissano, who is one of the African legendary figures of the struggle against colonialism and apartheid, and a symbol who led the current African renaissance for democracy and development", noted the communiqué.

A historical leader of the Mozambican revolution, having been in charge of many posts within the Front of Liberation of Mozambique (FRELIMO), before been the Head of the Mozambican diplomacy, Mr. Joaquim Alberto Chissano was elected President of the Republic of Mozambique since 1986, it should be recalled.
