|
El Aaiun (occupied territories), 09/10/2006 (SPS) The Moroccan forces of occupation arrested ten Saharawi youngsters during demonstrations that took place on Sunday night in the occupied city of El Aaiun advocating the "immediate" withdrawal of the Moroccan occupation from the Western Sahara, concordant sources indicated.
These arrests also intervene, according to the same sources, as a reaction by the Moroccan authorities to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights’ report in which it affirmed that the self-determination is a "fundamental right" of the Saharawi people. Who must exercise it "without further delays".
Demonstrators lifted the Saharawi Republic’ flags and chanted slogans advocating the Saharawi people’s right to their inalienable right to self-determination and independence before they were dispersed "savagely" by the Moroccan repressive police, the same source added.
The Moroccan forces of occupation arrested the Saharawi citizens, Mohamed Boubidi, Mohamed Soudani, Youssef Soueyih, Bachir Yara, Abdessamad Bchayer, Zdeidatt Boujemaa, Feissal Housseini, Mahfoudh Mohamed Salem, Boussaoula Mohamed Salem, Boussaoula Laroussi and Hrayem Mohamed.
On another hand, the Saharawi political prisoners in the Moroccan local prisons in Inzegan, Ait Melloul, Kenitra and Tiznit deounced, in a press release they issued, the Moroccan refusal to authorise a European Parliament’s ad-hoc delegation to visit Morocco and Western Sahara as it was agreed upon and planed for last Thursday.
They further condemned this act which aims at hiding the gross human rights violations committed by the Moroccan State against the Saharawi defenceless civilians in the occupied territories of the Western Sahara and in the south of Morocco. (SPS)

|

The report, the Saharawi diplomat adds, is composed of four main points. The first confirm, with proves, the implication of the Moroccan Government in the gross human rights violations, mainly violations against the freedom of expression, association as well as against other fundamental rights.
The second point underlined that the Moroccan denial of the Saharawi people’s right to self-determination is the real reason of all other violations this same people is suffering under occupation.
The report calls on the international community to help the Saharawi people to fully enjoy their inalienable and non-negotiable right to self-determination, without any kind of pressures.
