Chahid El Hafed, 08/10/2006 (SPS) The Coordinator with the Minurso, Member of the Polisario Front’s National Secretariat, Mhamed Khadad, denounced the "blockage by Morocco of the visits exchange between the Saharawi families, separated by the Moroccan colonial occupation".

In a statement to the SPS, Mr. Khadad indicated that the resuming to the UN’ supervised programme of families visit exchange, planed for the beginning of October after Polisario Front had accepted all the propositions of the programme that was submitted to it by the UN High Commissioner for the Refugees last July, then again in August and finally in September 2006.

Recognising to the UNHCR and the donors parties the merit for the big efforts they provided for the resuming of this UN programme, Polisario Front condemns "the attitude of Morocco, which is hindering the pursuit of this humanitarian operation".

Polisario wants the international community and the UN Security Council to be witnesses on the "intransigence" of Morocco, which "wants to maintain the Saharawi territories closed not only in front of the foreign delegations and other NGOs but also in the face of the Saharawi citizens, and all this because of the needs required by its policies of blind repression and of human rights violations", Mr. Khadad concluded.
