(SPS) The President of the Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz, received on Wednesday
at the Presidency, an important delegation of the Canaries Youth of Solidarity
with Saharawi People (JCSPS) that has presented him a project entitled «shoulder
to shoulder» aiming at assisting Saharawis in the levels of health,
education and education.
«Regarding to the immediate neighbourhood of the Canaries people with
Saharawi people and the historical relationship that continues to link us,
we are called from both sides, to protect and develop these links»,
underlined the President of the Republic during a reception organised to
the youth delegation, to which members of the Canaries Association of the
Friends of the Saharawi People (ACAPS) had also took part.
«Hyphen between Africa and Europe in their geographic position, our
two peoples had always developed good relationships of neighbourhood»,
added Mr. Abdelaziz, underlining that «despite of the Moroccan military
invasion of our territory in 1975, these relationships had never been disturbed».
Moreover he deplored that «the expansionist nature of Rabat's regime»,
which is «exporting war, destruction, drugs, illegal immigration and
terrorism to its neighbours».
Mr. Abdelaziz expressed his conviction that there are «free men, in
Morocco, who have the same ideas we all have, and whom we have to help in
order to restore the rights, legality and the respect of the neighbours».
On behalf of the JCSPS, Miss. Cahora Portes Barios, stressed on the factors
of union between the two Canaries and Saharawi peoples and presented the
characteristics of the JCSPS project, which execution is expected for the
beginning of the next year.
«We had lived the struggle of the Saharawi People as if it is ours
since the beginnings, and we had it in our hearts. A struggle that unified
us to the people that we had always considered as brothers: brothers in destiny,
brothers for the neighbourhood to the same sea and brothers by the feeling
of the same injustice», underlined the speaker.
It should be recalled that the JCSPS was constituted in March 2003 as a symbolical
act that took place in Tenerife and a delegation of the youth organisation
has already visited Saharawis refugees' camps then at the same period. (SPS)
