SPS A Saharawi ex-political prisoner arrested in the occupied city of El Aaiun 04.12.06
|
El Aaiun (occupied territories), 04/12/2006 The Saharawi ex-political prisoner, Bouamoud Mohamed Salem, was arrested on Sunday by the Moroccan forces of repression in front of his family house in the famous "Maatallah" neighbourhood in the occupied city of El Aaiun, "because he wore a T-shirt that illustrated the Intifada on independence", indicated a press release issued by the Saharawi Association of the Victims of the Gross Human Rights Violations Committed by the Moroccan State (ASVDH).
Mr. Bouamoud was arrested in front of his house and was "brutally" tortured in public by agents of the Moroccan police because of the T-shirt he was wearing illustrating the Intifada of Independence, the press release stressed.
Many Moroccan police cars, under the commandment of the famous Moroccan torturer, Ichi Aboulhassan, and his assistant Mustafa, closed the street of Sidi Mohamed Dadach, where Mr. Bouamoud lives, to prevent the Saharawi citizens from protesting against this "barbarous act", it was indicated.
The ex-political prisoner was led to a police station where he was submitted to torture and interrogatories, "though the fact of wearing a T-shirt glorifying the Intifada is not a violation to the international laws nor to the Moroccan ones", the text regretted.
"This kind of oppression, violations of freedom, physical tortures against the Saharawi citizens, especially human rights activists and ex-political detainees, is a strategy adopted by the Moroccan repressive forces to put constraints on freedoms in the Western Sahara", the ASVDH regretted in its press release.
On another hand, the ASVDH reported other aggressions perpetrated by Moroccan police agents against other Saharawi political prisoners, mainly El Hafed Toubali, El Gasmi Mohamed Lehbib, Ahmeidat Mohamed Salem and El-Loumadi Abdeslam during their transportation from the notorious Carcel Negra towards the Moroccan colonial court in El Aaiun where they were presented on Tuesday.
In this respect, the Saharawi political prisoners incarcerated in the notorious Carcela Negra launched an "urgent" appeal to human rights organisations and associations as well as the democratic forces around the world, to "put an end to the gross human rights violations perpetrated by the Moroccan State", the prisoners are submitted to in the Moroccan prisons.
