SPS Denmark demands insurances from the European Union on the legality of its accords of exploitation of the Saharawi fishing resources 04.02.06

Copenhagen, 04/02/2006 (SPS) The Danish Minister for Agriculture and Fishing, Mr. Hans Christian Schmidt, affirmed in an intervention before the Danish Parliament on Friday, that Denmark has demanded insurances from the European Committee regarding the accords of exploitation of fishing resources, which are illegally including the Saharawi territories, and signed between the European Union and Morocco, reported a Saharawi source close to the Polisario Front’s Representation to the Nordic countries.
During a plenary session, dedicated Friday evening, to the discussion of the theme of the exploitation of the fishing resources according to the terms of the fishing accords between the European Union and Morocco, Mr. Schmidt "stressed that his Government as well as other European Countries, had demanded insurances from the European Committee on the subject of the legality of the mentioned accords with regard to the international law as well as taking into account the respect of the status of he Western Sahara as a non-self-governing territory", the same source indicated.
Recalling "their positions of support to the Saharawi people’s right to self-determination as well as their support to the efforts of the United Nations for a just and lasting", the Danish Parliamentarians, all tendencies included, asserted on their part that the so called accords "must conform to the international law and be respectful of the still undefined status of the Western Sahara", the same source said.
Finally, all the Danish Parliamentarian groups agreed to submit a question on the legality of the mentioned accords to the European Committee of the Danish Parliament, while "awaiting for clear and convincing answer from the European Union Committee", it was indicated. (SPS)

SPS The students of the secondary schools in the occupied city of El Aaiun express solidarity with the Saharawi political prisoners

(occupied Territories), 04/02/02006 (SPS) The students of two secondary
schools in the occupied city of El Aaiun announced on Thursday their solidarity
with the Saharawi political prisoners during their 48 hours hunger strike that
started last January the 31st, calling on the international community to
"exercise pressures n the Moroccan Government so as to compel it abide by the
international legality and enable the Saharawi people to exercise their right to
self-determination", indicated the correspondent of SPS on the ground.
The Saharawi students of the two schools organised a demonstration, wearing
Saharawi traditional clothes. The demonstrators were raising the Saharawi Arab
Democratic Republic’s flags, chanting slogans and asking for the Saharawi people
right to self-determination, the same source said.
On another hand, the Saharawi citizens in the El Aaiun, the occupied capital of
the Saharawi Republic, organised a peaceful demonstration last Wednesday to
denounce the Moroccan barbarous repression that is striking the Saharawi
peaceful demonstrators since the start of the popular "uprising of independence"
last May 2005.
The demonstrators also called for the unconditional release of all the Saharawi
political prisoners and to the breaking of the siege imposed on the
neighbourhood of 'Maatallah' in addition to other streets and places in the
city, which are put by Moroccan colonial authorities under tight police and
military blockade, the same source stressed. (SPS)
