The national conference of the committee of external relationships was
held this January the 2 and 3 in the Wilaya of Aousserd with the
participation of Ambassadors and Polisario Front's representatives in
Europe, in Spanish autonomous provinces and with the presence of
Foreign Affairs Ministry's stuff.
The conference, also attended by members of the government, walis and
mayors of dairas, was an opportunity to discuss the last developments
of the Saharawi question on the light of the last successes achieved by
SADR's diplomacy, as well as the problems and obstacles erected by
Morocco in front of the enforcement of UN's resolutions on Western
Sahara conflict.
The conference was also an occasion to discuss the themes of the
international humanitarian aid, which lately knew an obvious decrease
of food supplies of Saharawi refugees.
The conference will also conferred about the ways of reinforcing the
international solidarity and the best means of reorganising and
promoting the annual program of vacations for Saharawi children abroad,
a program that profits to thousands kids, it should be recalled. (SPS)

Aousserd, 03/01/2004 (SPS) The
national conference of the committee for external relations pursue its
works, which were opened Sunday in Aousserd under the chairmanship of
the Head of the State, Mohamed Abdelaziz, with the presence of
Ambassadors and Polisario Front's representatives to Europe, to the
Spanish autonomous provinces, in addition to the stuff of the Foreign
Affairs Ministry.
After his intervention declaring the opening of the conference, the
Head of the State proposed a committee to Chair this conference, headed
by Prime Minister, Abdelkader Taleb Oumar, and composed of Foreign
Affairs Minister, Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, the Minister of Interior,
Mohamed Lemine Deddi, Saharawi youth Union's Secretary General, Mohamed
Mouloud and M. Nema Saaid Joumani, the Wali of Aousserd.
Saharawi youth Union's Secretary General presented a detailed report on
last year programme of the Vacations in Peace, which benefits to
thousands Saharawi kids every summer in Europe. He pointed out the
obstacles faced in this area and the perspectives of controlling,
reorganising and dynamising the programme.
Mr. Ould Salek reviewed the Foreign Affairs ministry's report of the
year 2004, exposing his vision of the perspectives for the programme of
action of 2005. He further opened the political discussion on the last
developments in the question of Western Sahara and on the ways to
maintain and reinforce the last successes SADR's diplomacy achieved.
On his part, the President of the Saharawi Red Crescent, M. Bouhoubeyni
Yahya, warned against the precariousness of the humanitarian situation
in
the Saharawi refugees’ camps, calling the international community for
urgent assistance and aid.
The Association of the Families of Saharawi Prisoners and Disappeared
(AFAPREDESA) presented a report on the tragic situation of human rights
in occupied territories of Western Sahara.
Mr. Mohamed Khadad, member of the National Secretariat and Coordinator
with the Minurso, reviewed the last developments of the Saharawi
question on the light of the Security Council's resolution 1570, as
well as on the problems and obstacles erected by Morocco in front of
the enforcement of the relevant UN's resolutions.
The closure of the annual Conference of the committee for external
relations is expected tonight. It has to adopt a programme of action
for 2005, and to issue a final communiqué. (SPS)
